ReplyDeleteToday’s Jumble haiku:
(Choreographers sometimes find themselves short on ideas, especially when it comes to experimental numbers. Here’s one such idea for…)
“Sprucing Up an avant garde Dance”
The impact may be
pushy, but unwed carafes*
make a dream ballet!

___________
* And the number is a great success, so that (in honor of Misty’s birthday) it even turns the white, “UNwed” vino, Wed.
Hawi'ian dip served before Southeast guest
ReplyDeleteHad a chance to shower or rest
Showed that host
Sincerely hoped
His hospitality passed the test!
Like WC last night, I kept cool.

ReplyDeleteThe unwed couple knew the impact
their upcoming birth announcement
would make on their stodgy parents.
They didn’t want to push, yet
the news must be revealed.
Serving a carafe of eggnog,
they made it a Christmas present
And spruced it up.
OMK- what a wonderful dream ballet! And vino for Misty to keep celebrating the day after her birthday.
ReplyDeleteThe J words were difficult to mesh into one offering today, plus I am short on time. My result is unpolished!
Owen- is the W hidden in your lovely poem? (Hospitality?)
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas, however you are celebrating the holiday.
Ps, I started with a J
ReplyDelete"Chet", Neal said after a meeting where there was push and shove.
ReplyDelete"If you want to spruce up a meeting, ask 'Are we recovered
Or recovering?'. Much like 'Are they living in sin or merely unwed?'
Same impact . But I refer you to Catch-22, a book perhaps you've read.
Since a sip from a carafe of wine begins a cycle of inanity
So the second part of the second step says 'Restored to sanity'"
So if recovered means we are now to be considered sane,
Recovering is knowing 'We can never drink again!'"

So many scored in 3 today!
Showing grace under pressure this Christmastide!
A cool Yule!

The dip from the taro root provides the 1st part of Owen’s W,
ReplyDeletefollowed by the direction whence his SE guest.
Clever on clever is no less than we expect!
The baby New Year is the gift of CEh’s expectant pair!
“Unpolished” perhaps, but to be welcomed nonetheless.
The eggnog helps in swallowing the news!
Cycling ‘twixt recovery & recovered forms the theme of Wilbur’s piece.
It may be a semantic game for more detached readers,
but it’s a choice of mortal bearing for those for whom it really matters.

There are a great many celebratory wishes to be shared in this loving season.
ReplyDeleteMaybe too many to be expressed in the glad words we usually post.
“Merry” &”Happy” encapsulate massive emotions.
Over the years, the decades, we have lived, they’ve compiled deepening meanings.
So long as we know that, they must suffice.
A Merry Christmas to you all!
~ OMK
"Proposal"
ReplyDeleteDrinking some coffee from her carafe
she remembered the day,
and it made her laugh.
At the time they were still unwed
but with her pushy partner
she shared a bed,
when he told her not to tarry--
but to agree that they should marry.
His request had the impact that he hoped,
and next day, spruced up, they gladly eloped.
A joyful recollection, Misty, to be sure!
ReplyDeleteMemories in a coffee cup
of a happy time,
when love leapt up
& hearts could sing
before & after
the wedding ring.
Christmas blessing!
~ OMK
Excellent Misty, one of your best. Perhaps something similar will occur with C&L
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of the xword POKE re. Owen's Wordle twister
OMK you've mastered rhyming doggerel. That being what I call my work
I do think it might be helpful to AA newbies to follow year I in J-rhyme
C-eh, no response to your xword Xmas quiz, eh? I caught "Frosty" on the parson hint. And of course Hark the Heralds.
I like the one where Dino is coaxing his girlfriend to stay and she asks "What's in this drink?

OMK and Wilbur,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind responses
and for treating my verse
as not all nonsense.
I feared I might get a curse,
or something even worse,
but you broke through my suspense
with your generous and kind good sense.
Merry Christmas, everybody!
