  1. Today’s Jumble haiku:
(Misty, if you think one of these two critters is larger in size, it may be because this haiku also happens to be today’s…)

  2. Oh, beautiful for bluest skies,
The color of my sweetheart's eyes,
    The placid lake,
    The waves seas make,
The sapphire color of blue dyes.

  3. Orijinz:
The Three Stooges were five, you know.
They always included Larry and Moe.
But they changed who was burly,
    Curly Joe or just Curly,
And Shemp was a chump or a shmoe.

  4. Owen- I loved your W poem with its various shades of colour. Your first line with its tribute to America the Beautiful was a great intro. Congrats on your 100th W win. My Max streak is 93 games, but my current is only 6., and I am 98% on 589 games. I haven’t been monitoring my stats. I presume your streak ends if you miss a day or do the W on another device.

I got the O in 59 seconds. I had to come back to your poem before the light dawned and I saw the expression. Thanks. Now to see if I can work it into my J, W, O poem for today.

Sometimes the given words don’t bisect,
And there is no theme to dissect.
The gizmo needs to have a chauffeur,
There is nothing fresh to go’fer.
Azure skies may crown the day,
But chump change will be the pay.

  6. Sir Reele once took on a squire.
The inept young man did not inspire.
He didn't want to work that hard.
Instead, he wanted to be a bard!

Now being a bard is not that easy.
Stage fright keeps many stomachs queasy.
To string a lute and keep it tuned up,
While entertaining dinner for eight is tough.

But he a talent that put the rest to shame.
He knew every dragon in the realm by name!
He was friends with all, lady dragons especial,
They called him Sweetie, said he was essential!

Not all lore makes it into myths. That's factual.
Dragons' privates with humans are compatible!

  7. "New Set of Pets"

One day, by surprise, a chauffeur
    delivered Gabby some gophers.
She also got a gizmo to bisect
the fresh food these pets would inspect.

Happily the gophers produced no grime
and gave Gabby a very good time.
They were peaceful and none was a fighter
and made Gabby's day much brighter.

  8. I see we went for the same title, CanadianEh!
Kind of ironic, as we have no good rhyme for today's W-word.
I came as close as I could when choosing a 2nd animal for my haiku, and even it is not an exact rhyme.

Your poem acknowledges the problem we all face when the J-words don't suggest a natural theme. Gizmo is a fine example. Who knows what it is supposed to be? You'd give it a driver, while I'm happy to treat it as a delectable dish.

Misty picks up on the food idea, but for her the gizmo is used to carve the pet food. This shows how versatile our imaginations may be, but it also denies us that stringent sense that points us to a useful storyline.
Gabby apparently never learned who sent her those gophers. Fortunately, they were well-behaved and earned a place in their forever home.

Owen's squire provides coherent lore, showing that length can be a factor in tying various words together.
But then further study shows that it's yesterday's words--a treat, to be sure, just not up the same alley.

  9. Misty~
I may condense some future hints within the haiku format--if I can!--as this is the poem into which I put most thought.
The separate rhyming hints are easy to do, but I notice they tend to get more response than they deserve.

  10. Yep, CanadianEh ~
    Owen
's streak of 100 is an accomplishment.
But you're right. If you miss one, you get sent back to Zero.
My longest run was 105 Wordles.
But I neglected one on one of my Sunday "holidays"--through sheer forgetfulness--and I felt punished, like being sent to the principal's office.

  11. No Wordle clue today, Ol' Man Keith? I miss it.
But I liked your bisecting haiku.

Loved your blue skies poem, Owen. And your inept young bard turned out to be just amazing.

Another one of your interesting negative verses, CanadianEh!. Your work also reminds us that we need to keep a bit of realism in mind, when we produce all this other joyful material, and that's important to keep us grounded. Thank you for that

  12. I can’t be any clearer, Misty, that I have given you today’s clue in my haiku!
The rhyme may not be perfect, but it is definitely there—right in the 1st line of my little poem.
It rhymes, quite colorfully, with the last word of that line.
As CanadianEh says, it goes from the beginning to the end of the alphabet.
Now, it only requires a little imagination on your part.

  13. Thank you, thank you, for giving me a bit more help, Ol' Man Keith. It helped, not on the first try, but on the second. Still, a great gift on a Friday. Many thanks!

  14. Misty ~ I am glad--very much so!--that you worked it out!
I think hints may look easy once they are posted, but they consume a fair amount of time.
OTOH, when they take focus away from the haiku, they defeat my main effort. That's why it makes sense when I can incorporate them into one piece.

  15. Misty- I smiled at the different images of a chauffeur delivering the gophers to Gabby, and then a gizmo bisecting their food. Peaceful pets with no grime were bound to make her day brighter.
What a varied collection of words we were given today.
I also managed to include the Wordle and the Orijinz, but only Owen May notice them all. (You can usually look for the W in my poem, if the clue I give with my Wordle result is not enough help.

OMK- there was not much to work with for a title today. I’m not surprised that we got the same result.
Thanks for confirming my W thoughts.

I had missed your J poem yesterday Owen. Thanks for giving it today.
