The Cleanwater Fire Abatement Bureau,
C-FAB to the fabulous fire fighting heroes,
Protecting the city with training to douse
Any threatening blaze, until it is out!

They are expert at deploying the fire hose,
Pivot the cap, and clamp the ring close.
They serve with honor the essential task,
Rescuing babies, or up a tree for a cat.

Was just looking over the stats, since there's been a big increase in readers the past two days, and noticed a couple bits of interest. While the viewers are overwhelmingly from the US, there's also a rather large contingent from Indonesia. I hope one of you will sign in, even if you don't have any hints to share!

The other surprise is more nefarious. Most referrals to this blog are from Google and Crossword Corner. But there were also a lot from a porn site! I very much doubt. I think some hacker must have discovered a way to hijack clicks from other websites. I haven't heard of such a thing, have any of you?

Fun poem; I like your definition of essential tasks, Owen.

I have no idea how a porn site would be involved in pointing people to this blog, and hope that it isn't legitimate.

The jumble was pretty easy on the whole today. Got the cartoon solution without the clues (It actually makes me think of tennis more than mountains.) but did have some trouble afterward unscrambling the third clue -- all those vowels.

I too had trouble with all those vowels in the third clue, but, thankfully, I got it--and the solution was very simple and quick. An easy Jumble this morning--good for me because I've had a busy time already and am very tired and getting this Jumble easily was a blessing. And, of course, you poem with all the words there, was a treat, as always, Owen--many thanks. Now off to get a nap!

Already had my nap. Seems to have lasted all day.
Ah, well. Nice poem, easy jumble.
See you tomorrow...
