|| || honey, dwell, manage, thwart, denote them.

The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

Beatrice ruled her hive efficiently, but fair.
All the bees that dwelt there got their share.
The workers she managed did their jobs efficiently,
The gathered pollen and sipped nectar like a bee!

One day she noticed scientist observing her home.
Taking notes, and even swiping a piece of comb!
The honey in her hive they found, had a special flair.
Rubbed upon the pate, it restored fallen hair!

Beatrice sensed her danger. If the human world
Should learn of her colony, they would be imperiled!
To thwart the entomologists, she sent a raiding party
To chew up all their jottings, and thus de-noted them!

Your poem, Owen, carries real relevance to certain (previously) hairy readers! I don't suppose any of those "jottings" can be salvaged...?

Meanwhile, the action continues, a couple hives over.

"An Apiary Tale"
Bumble Bee Betsy did her bouncy-bee dance
denoting to her sister workers a brown bear's advance.
"Defend queen and honey with our very lives!
We must thwart the invader! Protect the hive!"

A flight of kamikazes managed a fierce downward bight
while a host of loud buzzers attacked the foe's right.
The main swarm of defenders swiftly gave chase,
driving the ursine giant from their dwelling place.

Meanwhile, sniffing all that unprotected wealth,
a Pooh bear chanced by--and haply helped himself.

"Sunny Bunny"

Honey Bunny was pretty funny
and wanted her singing to make some money.
Her room was no larger than a cell
yet she was happy there to dwell.
Food was a bit scarce but she did manage,
cadging the occasional sandwich.
She sang silly songs from her happy heart
and refused to let bad reviews her thwart.
Soon friends began her talents to note
and gave her singing their positive vote.
And so, in time she got a gig
and now her joy is loud and big.

Terrific poem, Owen, with a delightful Beatrice and the bees story. Loved the way you worked the Jumble words in, especially with you final "de-noted them."

The "honey" stirred up a bee poem in you too, OMK. So glad to see the heroic bees defending their hive, but as in many of your stories, a downward ending prevailed. Makes us a good team, I'd say, with your poems often ending tragically and mine always ending upbeat.

Misty, your Sunny Honey Bunny shows the world that yesterday's "Money" rhymes did not go to waste!
I was glad to see your stand-up singing Lepus is enjoying a happy career!

As for my Pooh bear, I doubt he saw the conclusion of my poem as a downward turn, or "tragic."
The swarm of bees may have sacrificed themselves, but they succeeded in driving off the major threat. In the history of the hive, they count it as a great victory!
Kinda like the RAF.
As for Winnie, he doesn't eat much.
He left with a smile.

Yes, I re-read your verse, OMK, and, you're right, it's more fortunate all around than I thought. Makes for a happier poetry day.

I just can't DENOTE these riddle solutions lately. I've solved Thursday, CC and jumble and had to cheat for that riddle solution.

OMK, delightful tale of the spoils of war. Driving off that bear was a noble endeavor. Owen focuses on those nosy sci-guys from the bee's perspective.

And finally Misty's happy ending. Any Zoom classes ahead?.

Cheers
