The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.
Comments are welcomed! And couching them in Poetry is definitely NOT required.
Do not explicitly reveal any of the actual answer words until after closing time, but embedding them surreptitiously in comment sentences is encouraged.

"Camping"
To celebrate a special event
the couple went camping in a tent
the was quickly entered by a rodent.
As if this was hardly absurd enough
things got even a bit more tough.
A fox turned up that was soft and woolly
but not a bit friendly and quite unruly.
This made the fellow hot under the collar
and he began to shout and holler.
His tactic was a quick success
making the critters whoosh,
and closing off any further access.
That night the tent was their private room
and the couple slept peacefully under the moon.

Good to see THREE whole days' worth!
Lois' tale is more complex than I might have guessed, and it is ambitious of you to tackle it in moving detail. I know you say it is not unusual, that it is a "familiar" story in AA, but it must tear at the soul of each individual.
Misty's comment, that it is bearable to us because of its timing--that is, with our knowing she is already in recovery--is supported by your own statement that Lois was fortunate to turn for help at an early age.
I can hardly imagine the depths of misery for those who come to AA later in the disease, or never at all.
Sandy's note on Lois' "powerlessness" picks up on another main theme of AA. It looks like your exposition on the organization is getting across. Good show!

Misty ~ As the rodent made room for a fox, I was expecting an expanding stream of beasties, something on the order of the "Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly."
I suppose it was fortunate for your Camping Couple that things didn't get so out of hand. But I admit to wishing them a little more discomfort in the name of comedy--maybe a train of animals.
That's just me of course. As it is, your muse allowed them to enjoy a splendid night to celebrate their own "special event ...under the moon."
And we can all share their satisfaction with that!

To borrow a term, or in my hands a phrase--from Misty--
Woo HOO!
My new Mouse came today!!
Her name is Magic Mouse 2, and she hooked up right away. She has been operating from nearly an hour now without showing signs of giving out.
(My old one would quit after about 5 minutes after each reboot.)
This means I am back on my desk top Mac, with access to all my old files and records--including decades of former students' records. It feels so good to be back in my old downstairs position. No longer balancing a lap top, or single-finger typing all day on my iPad.
Ya-hoo, Woo Hoo!!!

Wonderful news that you have your Magic Mouse back, OMK. Deserves every single Woo Hoo.

Any thoughts on Misty's recent verses?

My sponsor advised me on two things to avoid in my travels
She hardly needed to mention resentments that can unravel
One's serenity and access to a sober and happy life
One without unruliness , one without pain and strife
But she introduced the second pitfall that has waylaid many a girl
Relationships that divert and detract from recovery and growth
One minute focused on the steps the next plighting one's troth
There are enough rodents that hit on the newbie causing pain and strife
I get hot under the collar when a sponsee's still on the ground floor
When Mr Not-so-Right comes along and whoosh she's out the door

Yes, it sounds like Misty's been camping and is familiar with the critters or else has great imagination
OMK, great news on the rodent, I mean new mouse.
For all my posting years I've used my fingers on my android cellphone. That is finger.
Speaking of… I just couldn't unravel the rat, er RODENT until I finally returned to the J after running around. And…
Wasn't the riddle-solution missing THE which Misty and I supplied

So, Wilbur, is Lois being advised to avoid Chet??? It had been sounding as though they're good for each other. Hope that's the case.
Yes, Wilbur ~ I wonder with Sandy if you're prepping the path for Lois' sponsor to warn her off Chet!
Is he Mr. Not-so-Right for her after all?
Oh, wait...!
I see you making it clear that the sponsor gets alarmed when the "sponsee" is still on the ground floor. But the tables are turned with Chet, aren't they?
He is the newbie, and she is on the upper storey. Or on the mezzanine at least...
