Todayโs Jumble Limerick:
โFat-is-Actually (Preferable)โ
A damned lousy fruit is the kiwi,
with its social-ly menacing seedsโEe-ee!
I wish that the sheriff
would exact a tariff
banning that teeth-grittinโ Maori meanie!

Birdie, yay. I'm beginning to to figure that Wordle guy out
WC
But I couldn't unravel J#3,#4 And...
Riddle solution still escapes me still
"Cooking Class"
Lois was a lousy hostess
as well as a terrible cook.
All social events did her stress,
so she never bought a cook-book.
Then she met this guy in a suit
who was polite, if a bit stiff,
and he brought her a pie with some fruit,
which felt like a social tariff.
So, after all these years of waiting,
Lois is satisfactorily dating.
And having learned how to cook a great dinner,
she is now a social winner.
Misty ~ Seems like those guys in suits donโt realize the power they have. With the gift of one fruit pie, he transformed your Lois from a lousy hostess & terrible cook to a socially-winning top drawer chef!
I donโt suppose his name was Chetโฆ?
No, that would be too small a world for our little blog.
Right?

Good job, WC!
I may be wrong, but it seems most of the words approaching todayโs W answerโand the answer itselfโhave onomatopoeia at their core.
I think of what follows when
a fellow lands hard in a Dump,
with a bump and a crump, and aโฆ

The J solution could have been written ooooo-ooooooo, with the last part being the pun.
Spooner would have said #3 and #4 as toes shall sheriff.
Ol' Man Keith, I'm just amazed at the things I learn from your terse verses! Although I'd heard of it, I had no idea what a kiwi is (it never even showed up in the Jumble). But your verse obliged me to look it up and it turns out to be both a fruit and a bird, and does indeed have a connection to New Zealand. Amazing!
And, as always, thank you for your kind words about my verse. I can't believe that I completely forgot that the name "Lois" has a connection with Chet. I just needed an L name to go with 'lousy' and first thought of Louise but simplified it to Lois. My logic is so controlled by the Jumble words every day that I'm amazed anything I write ever makes any sense.
Wilbur, wish you could give us a sense of how you developed your Wordle productions. Would be fun to see.
We missed your poem, Owen--always a pleasure.
Misty I started with the J word with no E. I pondered #2 and then the V8 can hit me, loudly
There, you can't miss now

My Lois probably can cook after hanging around with Nora in the kitchen
I imagine Chet is a Ramen noodle guy
J1. J2 qualified. So from FRUIT I went to _TU__. Then THU__
