Todayโ€™s Jumble haiku:
(Some clumsy oafs think they are witty, but they often appall those nearby. They think theyโ€™re โ€œbig shots,โ€ but are often smaller than they suppose.
Each day their reach fails, and they go bust on an ever larger scale!

Adult Yahoos gibe,
causing apathy in others

Ted was a pharmacist who ran for office
A city councilman he would be.
He campaigned to voters cautious,
Assuring he was a Pill-er of Society!
~ ~ ~
Fidget spinners were a short-lived craze,
Although they came in with a yahoo holler
To fight adult ennui and apathetic days.
To buy these tops folks would pay a dollar.

A fascinating start, Owen, truly...
But you got me hooked, with nowhere to go!
Each stanza stands alone, and yet--?
And yet I was expecting to see what happens when Ted applies his druggie knowledge to the fidgety gadget--what kind of a hybrid he might create!
Would it spin out "highs" to all within range,
or turn fingers and arms into zombie-numb appendages?

Where were you leading us?

Two separate ~ ~ ~ and unconnected poems today.

"Problems"

Andy was a young adult
who had decided to join a cult.
His parents paid top dollar
so Andy could become a scholar,
celebrating his career on a pillar
with a speech that would be a killer.

But the cult gave Andy apathy
which caused his friends to boo,
so he quit and was glad he was now free
and no longer a yahoo.

Day Pop Scholar

As an adult full grown
He was a pillar of society.
But little was known
About his yahoo days.
Was it a general apathy?
Or a fear to revisit the hip-hop
Of his study of radio pop.

Owen- as a retired โ€œPill-erโ€, I LOLed at your poem.

OMK- Owen did put those lines in between the stanzas, and I see he replied that they stand alone.
OTOH, your thoughts might lead to an interesting third stanza. Oh, the money I could have made with that gadget!

WC- yes Phew. A different combination of letters today.

Misty- Andyโ€™s parents must have been worried about his future prospects, after he got involved with that cult. Fortunately, he was able to get out of their clutches (just by his friends booing).

He quit being a yahoo just in time;
Andy managed to eschew a life of crimeโ€”
a life as a boor, or an amoral doltโ€”
he was able to soar! from his cult heโ€™d revolt!

Atta boy, Andy!
Atta gal, Mistโ€”
y,
poet extraordinary
champโ€™yoning the list!

Heโ€™s managing to salvage
the greater part of life,
to advantage. Who shall judge
his later years, so rife?!

As with Owenโ€™s missing third,
Iโ€™m eager to read anotherโ€™s word.
Please,
donโ€™t tease!
Andyโ€™s remaining ratio,
Misty, tell it blow-by-blow!

Your title, so close to mine; we both had to work at this one, eh?
Looks like your guy is embarrassed to re-visit his old study ofโ€ฆ er, โ€œcontemporary artsโ€โ€ฆ
Sometimes what we love just isnโ€™t widely appreciated.
