There are several other Jumble blogs, but the ones I checked all started off by listing the answers. In this blog, answers can be either hinted at or masked by burying them in comments. No overt spoilers!
The progressive faction objected to this quarantine True, war was bad, but what else might they glean? This had happened before, so they all knew the drill. Dragon Gorn'Da volunteered, ti enjoyed the thrill!
The Sophont League would provide ti a saucer To travel to this "Earth", see what they could offer. Ti's mission: to collect and return with a native, An assembly to judge how the race should be rated.
This remedy to the problem had worked in the past, Tho the faction against had assured few had passed. They weren't above bribing any wavering races. To that end, there was bidding for voting-seat places!
Yes! That's a very good story, Owen. Will there be further installments? Again, today's J was easy to grok. Words come easily to me though the last one took me a while longer and I actually saw the final solve before finding that beast. Because the final solve is usually a play on a well known phrase, it's not hard to guess. That is my experience any way.
A fine start, Owen! Keep going! Today's J was a bit tricky, but only because I wanted BID to be the second word of the final answer. (Hint: Don't go there.) But once I realized the latter word should be the conclusion, the finale, the curtain-down, I was home free. Okay? OK. ~ OMK
Thank you, Ol'Man Keith. I did indeed assume that BID would be the short word, and as soon as you pointed out the problem, I got it. Whew. Since I had a lot of problems with the crossword (I probably won't check in today), it would have been devastating to get only a Kenken this morning. This way, with your help, I at least got the Jumble too. Great relief.
Definitely! I have enough of a plot for at least two more installments. But since I don't know what words are coming up, even I don't know exactly how it will develop.
Very glad I could help, Misty. The crossword looks tough, but is simpler to solve than it appears. It is the clever cluing that makes the first step difficult. You have to get on his wavelength, and then - as we so love to say - it's easy-peasy.
