There are several other Jumble blogs, but the ones I checked all started off by listing the answers. In this blog, answers can be either hinted at or masked by burying them in comments. No overt spoilers!
Out among the stars is the Sophont League From many planets, and many a breed. From across the galactic arm they gather To handle in agreement any serious matter.
There are many cliques in the deliberations. Some welcome new races to their stations. Others to the status quo like sehceel cling, Avoiding new members and ideas they bring.
The theme of this meeting is such a new race. Earthers are advancing at a rapid pace. Their custom of war is held in disdain. So their occlusion is exacted, until they change!
Words 1, 2, and 4 came easily. Word 3 needed a hint for letter 2. the Sol. needed hints for the last 2 letters of word 2. The first word came easily, and I grocked the full sol.
I thought it would be hard, but even while doing it w/o a pen or pencil, it came to me easily. This time it was the 2nd word of the final answer that popped into my bean - after flirting for a minute or two with CENTER (based on "Cent") until I saw there was no "R" in any of the prelim words. Glad you got it, Dave, and enjoyed your poem, Owen!
I too had to work a little to get word 3, but once I read the cartoon and looked at the letters, the solution popped right up. So glad your poem confirmed it, Owen.
Wilbur, the last two words certainly helped with the solution, in reverse. The others, now that I look at them again, also in reverse. Very clever, thank you, Wilbur!

Would that Haiku have helped, Misty?

Very easy theme today with a funny pun. Sometimes words just jump out at me. I finished the whole think in under five minutes. Impressive poem, Owen.
