So I'm up later tonight and checking out the jumble early. The clues were pretty easy, and the solution just sort of unwound itself word after word. I get the pun, but somehow it doesn't strike me as all that funny. Probably should have waited until morning to look at it, lol.

Tom and Huck were down in the swamp,
. . . where they knew girls wouldn't go.
To scout out a spot for a clubhouse,
. . . but one just for boys, you know.
The mores of the times are changing,
. . . with this #MeToo stuff and such.
The safest way to be a boy today,
. . . is be near girls only when you must!

They'd been searching after school,
. . . (where they sat, chairs in a row).
Summer days were coming on,
. . . they wanted someplace safe to go.
They'd form a club, no girls allowed,
. . . to practice what young men should.
They'd induct their friends with pomp,
. . . in a clubhouse shack made of wood.

Murky water to their kneecaps,
. . . They trudged on without complaint.
Cameras on their drones ahead
. . . showed something white as paint.
A new-built clapboard cabin stood
. . . Of just-right clubhouse size.
And a signboard out in front that read,
. . . "Girls' club only! Sorry guys."

Some solutions are clever, some are not, but very few are funny. This one struck me as slightly edgier than yesterday's. For the delights of invention & humor, we're lucky to have Owen's genius on our end.

Although the poem is all about#2, I couldn't find it. #4 was slow in coming . I thought OAR(S) would be in the solution.

I thought it was a typical J all around. And a very clever poem.

I love, love, love this poem. I love the way it flows, and the way Owen throws in the twist at the end. And I'm tickled by the way the boys are looking for an old shack, but are using modern drones to search for it.

Perhaps, OMK, I should have used the phrase 'not all that clever', but I do find many solutions quite funny, though not this one. The word that comes to my mind is awkward. The phrasing just doesn't seem natural to me without a numeric qualifier. But that's nitpicking for sure, and I will now stop.

Bit of a tough Jumble for me this morning. I needed Owen's poem to give me two of the words but then had trouble with the solution--even though they are such small words and it should have been easy. But I actually kind of liked the solution, after I got it, and think it's a cute cartoon. Guess I'm in a cheerful mood, even with a tough Jumble.

Eeek! Owen, is there any way to keep someone off the site permanently? This is their second appearance. I ask because I'm not very knowledgeable about the intricacies of the internet.

He can delete the post . CC gets them occasionally .

I know he can delete the post. I'm just asking if there's any way to avoid having to do that repeatedly.

If there's a blacklist capability I don't know how to use it. probably wouldn't do any good anyway, in my observation it's a different one every time. Just ignore them, so our conversation won't be left disjointed after I finally get around to erasing them.

Ok. Ignoring from now on. That was his second appearance, so I think he may persist.
