Some people have a knack for reading faces.
They can tell with a glance what their place is.
Are they noble and true, a friend to cherish?
Are they base and baneful, outright churlish?
They say the eyes can plumb the depth of souls,
Reveal an inner person no one else knows.
Outside a shaggy, shabby bum, inside a saint.
Outside a suave, urbane gent, inside he ain't.
Some other people get hung up on looks.
Is he a hero, she a princess from in books?
Centered septum? Earlobes even? Do or don't?
Looks decide who they'll date -- or they won't.
Owen, you did it. I wondered how you would deal with that fourth clue word, but you came up with a poem that makes it fit in naturally. I especially like the second verse; so true.
The jumble was medium for me. That is, I got hung up in that fourth clue and couldn't imagine what it could be. On the other hand, once I had all the letters, the punny solution was pretty easy.
I too had trouble with the fourth word, Sandyanon, and went on to work out the solution, which was pretty easy given the short two words. Once I could put the missing letters in place, the answer for that fourth clue popped right out at me. I love these Jumble cartoons--they are so clever and funny. And Owen, your poem was once again a delight as always. I first read it to find all the puzzle words, and then just read it for the pleasure of the message. Made our Saturday extra fun this morning--many thanks.
Easy Jumble today but like Misty and Sandyanon the fourth word eluded me. I had tempus first and doubted a Latin word would be correct here. Once the solve occurred to me I realized which letter I was missing so went back and rearranged them. I also wondered how you would fit that into your poem, Owen, but I've learned not to underestimate you. Brilliant!
What everyone said about #4 . I guess the J has a Saturday level too. Riddle was easy.
