|| || venue, tepid, weakly, hangar, paved the way.

The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

[At Wilbur's request in the style of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's "Song of the Bow", and dedicated to Misty and to my own dear wife, Brenda.]

What of the love?
. . . The love formed in the heart.
What was shared paved the way,
Different strengths built the trust
. . . What was tepid
. . . Became intrepid
And we two, became one us!

What of the joy?
. . . Joy was sown in the heart.
There was laughter, bright and gay,
There was hope, washed with tears.
. . . Together done
. . . Was more fun,
And happy vanquished fears!

What of the home?
. . . Home's the venue of the heart.
It is where the lovers stay.
However humble, it is grand.
. . . A place to hang
. . . Away from clang,
A place to be, hand in hand.

What of the time?
. . . The time filled the heart.
When together, it flew so fast,
When apart, trod weakly slow.
. . . Every minute
. . . Had love in it,
Days or years, they could not go.

My goodness, Owen, what a beautiful poem, and I am totally moved by your dedication. Thank you so much for this lovely gift. I am going to copy it so I can keep it. And how nice that it came on a day when I worked my way quickly through the Jumble, and got all the words and the solution without any problem. Thank you again, you've made my day.

That is indeed a marvelous tribute to your wife and Mindy. I enjoyed the form of the poem almost as much as the content. But especially liked what you said in the last verse.

As for the jumble, it was quite easy, both clues and solution. I seem to be getting quite jaundiced after having done so many jumbles, and I had another hohum reaction today. Cute, but 'no cigar'. I liked it, but . . .
