A caterpillar on a branch
Made his weary, wiggly way
To reach his leafy tranche
And munch and munch away!

Green input to fuel his change
From a worm into a chrysalis.
For his larval form, exchange
Into cocooned paralysis.

Emerging when a season's past
As a photogenic butterfly!
Wings with colored piping cast,
Hot as a geisha to please an eye!

I know it's wrong to project human thought & attitudes onto other creatures, but I can't help imagining how a caterpillar must feel when transitioning as in Owen's poem.
I wonder if it has any idea of the glorious future that lies ahead. Maybe it spends its earthbound days grumbling & muttering to itself, moving its feet as fast as they'll go yet still unhappy that it takes seemingly forever to get anywhere at all. I'd love to be able to tell it to quit the griping! Not many bugs have such a vivid (if brief) destiny in store!

Well, I had a silly problem with the first item, and so came to Owen's poem for help. I loved the poem, Owen--what a delight! And there was my missing word, which gave me the letters I needed to come up with the funny solution. (Nice echo, OMK). Loved the colorful cartoon with the bright blue tool box in front. A total Monday Jumble pleasure all around.

The jumble clues were easy, and once I had all the letters and knew what the second word of the solution must be, so was the solution. Kinda cute.

Loved, loved the poem, which tells its story so smoothly and thoroughly. Never thought of a butterfly and a geisha together before.
