Today’s Jumble haiku:

Supple Cod

The judge pardoned the
odd couple. Such ill vibes met
his bamboozling rule!

FLN, CEh!
I am sure my boss reported me back “in line.”
As usual, I sought (&, in this case, found) a middle ground. A compromise—a way to continue on my path while modifying it enough to satisfy us both.
It was an art, truly.

A hostile mood may posses
A damsel who's not in distress.
To Prince Charming,
So disarming,
She would testy words express!

"Who am I to judge?", said Frank
Cognizant of exalted rank.
Could be sinful, who can tell?
But lawful it should be , as well.

Lawmakers should be chill and calm,
About those deeds that do no harm.
Allow odd couples (you know who,
Those not as straight as bamboo).

Earthly laws should be hands off
Of love, no matter how star-crossed.
Let them ask of God a pardon
For whatever gives a hard-on.

Censored again, so I am splitting the Wordle post.

Phew! I was having fun during orientation week on guess three, but things became offensive before I found myself where two roads meet.

“Bim Bam Boom was a Canadian children’s television series which aired on CBC TELEVISION between November 18, 1955 and January 13, 1956. The show featured three clowns, named Bim, Bam and Boom, who told fairy tales and performed. . . . Bim and Bam were puppets, while Boom was a human actor.”(Wikipedia)

Bim Bam Boom

Pardon my ignorance of this show
I came across in CBC archives:
An odd couple of puppet clowns though,
Guided by their human peer.
Harsh judgement soon chilled their career;
The kids gave no high fives.

Owen- you are in fine form today.

OMK- FLN, yes compromise is often the best solution. Especially when your job is involved.
Great haiku today.
I laughed at your fish bamboozling! And I loved your title. I gave up trying to get a Spoonerism, and used another word as a basis for my title. But it did require a too-lengthy backstory.

"Odd Couple"

The judge sadly held a grudge
and would not his decision budge,
which made the defendant chill
and decide he'd best write a will.

Without a pardon, he could not sue,
so he left his fortune to the zoo
which would feed his panda bamboo.

His decision seemed strangely subtle,
but he and his pet were a happy odd couple.

I sympathize, CEh! As a chief dispenser of too-lengthy backstories, I know how awkward it can feel as you work a long-way around to make simple sense of a theme or title.
Still, we sometimes find no other course—and it can lead to an informative breakthrough, as in your “Bim Bam Boom” discovery.
I now wish I had seen that show. It sounds delightful. Thank you for sharing!
Why couldn’t I have been a Canadian child at just the right time to enjoy “Bim Bam Boom”? Rats.

Fine stuff, Owen! You are making up for your enforced absence.
I gotta kick out of both pieces today. Especially of the sentiment in the longer one. It is both smart and funny.
I laughed aloud at the conclusion (even though a bit hard core for this site).

Misty ~ Your verse today prompts my imagination. I’m not sure if I am on the right track, though, so maybe the piece would benefit from the kind of backstory we’ve been talking about.
Is the grudge-holding judge prejudiced against the defendant because the latter owns a panda? Or despite the possessed beast?
I think your readers are all animal lovers, so let me express our gratitude that the defendant has the wherewithal to provide for his panda’s future via a welcoming zoo. We needn’t ask how he came by the bear in the first place. We take their “odd couple”-ness as a given and are happy for their present… er, relationship.
