Today’s Jumble haiku:
“To Err Or Not To Err”
The formal’s image
is triple cold,unless I
err or miss my mark.

When alone in icy tundra, everybody knows,
the worst thing to do is to take a little doze.
When Sir Robert Hinckley did this, he could not wake—just ….. !

"Freeze," shouted the cop, but the perp kept running.
So the cop pulled his Faser, he wasn't funning!
In a trice
A block of ice
Held the perp despite his cunning!

Gremlins had invaded the CPA's program!
There they waged their own little pogrom!
Different Gremlins had their quirks.
Gerd updated images to Not Safe For Work!
Gorf made all forms print out in triplicates.
Glang filled proposals with typos of significance.
Groog escaped the computer to travel,
Changed formal business wear to Friday casual!
If errors are human, you see,
Gremlins multiply it by three!
They are happy with what they do here.
See it in the way they grin err to err!
Magnifico, Owen
Finding Old Portraits
The identical triplets are duly shown
In old photos as they have grown;
Sitting stock-still in a formal pose,
Their image in time the photographer froze.
The changes were marked from year to year,
Their faces calm as they appear,
Facing the future without terror.
Not identifying who was who was the error.
Owen- I echo WC’s comment re your J poem. I loved the names of your gremlins.
OMK- you and Owen were on the same wavelength with your titles.
I loved the timeliness of the J answer as we have fresh local corn on the cob on the market (and for dinner yesterday).
But the W was not as timely weatherwise.
"Minor Mistake"
The fear she might make an error
gave Teresa considerable terror.
She wanted her image to stay normal,
and even, at times, formal.
But in the end she had nothing to fear.
Her errors went in and out of one's ear.
And even after her triple veer,
she was still held fondly and dear.
Woohoo! Woohoo! Your incredibly helpful hint worked once again this morning, Ol Man Keith, and I was able to get the Wordle in a singly try:

Thank you so much for this great help. Cheers up my weekend!
CanadianEh! ~ Your poem exposes a typical human error, the sort of trait that undoes some of our best efforts.
Brava for close observation of our follies!
Your photographer—or whoever was in charge—went to pains annually to replicate the triplets’ pose, thus to record the series of changes over time.
And yet, for all that effort, they neglected to mark down the siblings’ names!
Well, let’s just hope the kids now recall who was sitting to their right & left!
And in WHICH YEAR!
Following up, CEh, I don’t see where Owen posted any title for us to be “on the same wavelength.”
I used my title—and my haiku’s last line—to split a J-word over two words. But (if you were thinking of his last line) he did not.
OTOH his poem was far more elaborate over all, and I bow to him in his creation of four (or more!) very specific gremlins.
Misty ~ Glad again to help. Did you look up Robt. Hinckley?
Your Teresa exemplifies a flaw we all may share—that of over-worrying about our mistakes, that they may be seen as glaring by others and made much of!
In the end, her errors hardly registered with onlookers. Brava to you as well, for revealing another typically human trait!
~ OMK
Misty- How many people miss out on something special because they are afraid to make an error. Sometimes as parents we overemphasize perfection, and as a result our children are afraid to be creative. Every mistake can be a learning experience, if it is not allowed to be a squelching of initiative. Bravo for Teresa for going for the “triple veer”, and discovering that folks still loved her (and hadn’t even really noticed the issue).
OMK- mea culpa. I was looking at Owen’s last line (of course there is no title), and he took the “ ear to ear” J answer to “err to err”. But now I see in your last line, the split “error”. Clever.
Re those unidentified photos: my brother does extensive genealogical research, and has taught us all to put notes (names and date, and relationships) of some sort on the back (if possible without injury) or linked in some way, so that future generations can identify their ancestors. Otherwise the photos are useless. Long before she passed at age 100, we had our Mother identify and tell stories about various family photos.
Digital photos are another matter altogether.
Lovely poems and comments this morning--thank you, everyone.
CanadianEh!, I loved your verse about the triplet photograph--delightful. And thank you for your very kind response to my verse.
Owen, your Gremlin verse was a real pleasure too!
Ol' Man Keith, I did look up Robert Hinckley, but am still not sure I understand how he was frozen, or had something to do with freezing. He seems to have had wide-ranging talents with a wide-ranging career. Maybe you could explain his role in your haiku a bit more tomorrow.
Meanwhile, have a great weekend, everybody
