The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

"That class was a bore, a bore I say!
I could have slept thru that all day!"
An adage says, "Fear what you wish --
You might get it served on a golden dish!"

Next day the anthropology class convened,
A new side of the proper Prof was seen!
Instead of his briefcase, he carried a beaker;
Took a quaff, and morphed into a Berserker!

Hair-shirt and helm, with stereotypical horns,
And a labrys battle axe he swung with good form!
The room was a babble of scramble and shriek!
Above the chaos, Prof: "That's all for this week."

The jumble was easy and the solution was really clever. I loved it.

Now the poem was super. Incorporated all the words very elegantly and solved the Sunday mystery -- I hope. "That's all for this week, and maybe for this year; I'm headin for them thar hills!"

I know the Society Islands are a tourist destination, but I don't know anyone (aside from feral pigs) who has actually been.

Sandy: Oddly enough, I had no idea while I was writing this that it could have any connection to Sunday's poem. But you are 100% correct, it certainly does sound like the two go together! Subconscious? Erato? Coincidence? The Prof himself from another dimension?

Oddly that second 4 gave me trouble. Do Dutch South Africans vacation at that island?

Owen, perhaps someone will take your poem and create a new horror film. Although a new movie on Tolkien is out

I loved this morning's Jumble! Zipped through all four answers without a second thought, and once I saw that collection of letters I got the punny solution instantly. A total delight! I love the different colors and hair-dos on those piggies, with one of them holding a book and the other a glass with some interesting-looking garnishes. And what a cool background with a mountain and clouds and palm trees along the beach. Haven't been to our beach here in Laguna Beach in ages--this makes me want to go down for a visit sometime.

Delightful and crazy poem, Owen, and nice to see all the words right there. And I enjoyed all of your other comments this morning.

FLN, OMK. I'm thinking the "software" would be a database of papers submitted with a Google type search engine.

And of course actually published work.

TBBT had a show about plagiarism in college.
