Swallowing Tide pods, what a craze!
Kids who do that must be in a daze!
Swallowing soap could endanger your life --
But Trump has advised it, once or twice.

Our shining city was once a swamp
With fetid odors, all foggy and damp.
But an architect's pencil saw it raise --
Tho the government there has seen better days!

The lawmakers deal with matters complex
What they come up with are pains in the necks.
What laws are needed are sticky as toffee --
Then we second guess them over our coffee!

Pollen season, when the victim ends
Up a slave to their histamines.
Would we could cut down every stalk
Of goldenrod, and juniper flock!

There's panacea on pharmacy shelves,
Elixirs and potions to treat ourselves.
Versus the sniffles that tickle noses
We can give our sinuses some doses.

Can we handle hay-fever tribulation?
There's no relief from our situation.
Garlic may keep the vampires away
But nothing will keep the pollen at bay!

Two excellent pieces from Glowin' Owen!
The first offering geo-political commentary and the second observing the folly of our trust in medicine, at least in certain kinds whose ancestors were quack docs' quick fixes.

Some fictional additions:
It was the craze of his wife that led Mr Rochester to lock the lady in Thornfield's attic, whereas in an attempt to gain control over his mischievous undersized priests, Oberon, the obsessive Pope of Fairyland, defrocked elves right and left.

Owen, it's so very good to see you back regularly, with limericks on the Corner and two great poems here. I appreciated the j4, but liked even more the j6; my daughter has terrible trouble in spring and medication doesn't seem to help much.

The jumbles were not much of a problem. The j4 solution was an interesting idea, if you like soaps. The j6, I thought, was a real groaner of a pun, but that's what puns are supposed to be, right?

Stay well, Owen!!

Wonderful puzzles, Owen--and I enjoyed seeing all the Jumble words in your second poem. Delightful glosses on the Jumble answers, Ol'Man Keith. A morning when we should maybe have mocked ourselves if we had trouble untangling the words, like I did.

Always nice to see you check in Sandyanon. Have a great Sunday, everybody.
