Today’s Jumble haiku:
(Ike needed another excuse. He had already pleaded being sick of the measles and of chicken pox. He was running out of illnesses. But the math exam was today. What could he blame this time?
To what could he ascribe a debilitating disease?)

Literally, the Truth

Alibi Ike SWEARS,
“Truly, I am unwell, for
… mystical reasons.”
~ OMK

Two versions - I rejigged to add some rhyme. Which one do you prefer?

Topic: Health

Her alibi-
She was unwell.
No mystic hypochondria,
Literally and truly
Not able to function.

Topic: Health

Her alibi -
She was unwell - truly!
No mystic hypochondria - literally
Not able to function.

About equal, I think.
If pressed to it, I’d say #1 works a little better for me.

Molly literally was a mystic
who solved many problems without a trick.
She was honest and would never lie,
and so never required an alibi.

When she became ill and felt unwell,
friends came and did her stories tell.
She thanked them truly with all her heart,
and promised they would all never part.

Now Molly is no longer sick,
and is back to being a beloved mystic.

Ol' Man Keith, sorry to hear about Ike's ongoing problems. And it sounds as though his 'mystic' explanation may not redeem him from failing to do his math exam. I hope someone gets him some psychological help.

CanadianEh!, your two versions of your verse today were both delightful. Since OMK liked #1 better, I think I'll go with #2. But both are neat.

Well, I had a devastating experience this morning. I had Clauder take me to the DMV this morning to renew my driver's license which expires with my birthday on December 23. I had to fill out dozens and dozens of forms, had pictures taken, responded to this and that, and then, after all that was finished, had to take a test to answer all sorts of questions about driving. I took it the first time and missed only three out of about 20 or so items, but was still told at the end that I failed it and had to take it again. The second time I got six items wrong and failed again. I have a third try left and can take the third test before February, but have decided I'm not going to do it and will let my driver's license expire. I never drive anywhere these days and wanted the license only in case I had to leave the house in an emergency of some sort and couldn't get a ride. But if and when this happens I will call 911 and ask for help or call Uber and see if they can send someone, or just pray that I will survive the situation. But I'll count these as three of the worst hours I've had in ages.

I’m late getting back to comment, but enjoyed both your offerings. Thanks for your votes on my two.
Misty- I am so sorry to hear about your stressful time today. But I agree that you can use other transportation in an emergency.

I have a family day tomorrow and may not make it here at all. Possibly not Sunday either. It’s a busy time of year.
