"Boom Boom"
They were "hoist by their own petard,"
(with an "Oomph" and a "Bam" and "Pow")
in an explosion that was deep and broad
--and quick!--no time at all to say, "Ciao!"
Thus Hamlet uses petard as a metaphor
for Guildenstern & Rosencrantz
and their sudden departure from this mortal shore,
as if blown onward and upward right outta their pants.

"Regrets"
Manny knew he was a doomed mortal
passing through the other world's portal.
Inside a mounted guard
forced him to move onward.
He was given a load to hoist
which made him sweat and feel moist.
He heard noises like 'oomph' and 'moo-moo',
and heard people moan and cry 'boo.'
He now regretted his life of sin
which gave him no after-life win.
Poor Manny...
I get that he's assigned to the "other place," the "lower chamber" of our bicameral fate. But I am not clear whether he encounters the "mounted guard" on this or that side of the portal--whether or not, for instance, they are prison guards making sure he is on time for a court-appointed execution, or red-suited minions of Lucifer.
The "load" to hoist" may refer to the style of said execution or to a Sissyfussian afterlife punishment.
Poor Manny....

Oh dear. I only meant for Manny to go to the other world after a long, but not very virtuous life--but not for an execution.
At least, you have to admit, Ol'Man Keith, that the Jumble words today made my usual "happy ending" pretty impossible, and ended up requiring a down story, not an up story. But your "Boom Boom" proves that it's possible to have both.

A little March madness chatter. Lehigh had a big upset of heavily favored Duke in 2012 and Hawaii knocked off mighty Kansas just last year(but not in NCAA Tourney which was cancelled).
Boy was I into that in my day. UCLA dominated fro '64-75

That upon arrival at the pearly gates he was not permitted

Woohoo! Woohoo! First, Ol' Man Keith's totally delightful Moo Moos verse, followed by his kind comments about poor Manny.
And, now, two fabulous Wilbur poems.
I don't know basketball very well, but I was excited to find all the Jumble words and solution worked right into that compact poem.
And, as an extra delight, Wilbur's question about Manny. I should have made Manny's sins a bit clearer, shouldn't I? Well, I'm going to hope that he's just in Purgatory, and not in Hell, and that all he did was to cheat people out of money in gambling and overcharging them for services and taking advantage of them when they asked him for help--things like that. There, serves him right to have a bit of down time, doesn't it?
