โ€œOMKโ€™s Recompenseโ€

Once again, itโ€™s time for my weekly recess
to the one day I set aside for rejuvenation.
These hours I hold as my hallowed access
to a passable, equivalent acceptilationโ€”

โ€”meaningโ€ฆ
while I may not have sufficiently earned my holiday,
yet through the gracious understandings of
fellow scribblers, we let good thoughts count, hold sway,
and glide into place, as sweetly as a landing dove.

Retired professor & wannabe poet, me,
& now, on Sundays, rewarded perfectly!

You say that i said you said it
I say that you said I said it.
Let's find a knight
To set us aright.
We'll start and end with Don Quixote!

Orijinz:
Carpe diem is the way to live
You Only Live Once isn't just a kid.
Do you comprehend
That as you near the end,
Once is enough if you've helped the world thrive!

I hate to ruin your illusion, professor, but back when I first started writing poems for the crossword corner, i didn't always use words from the puzzle. I also wrote about crossword puzzles generally. Since that set the paradigm for the practice, your meta-poems are still acceptable poems for the assignment ๐Ÿ˜.

OMK- what are the odds that my second guess from yesterday (a rare Q word) would be the W today. I should have guessed it on my second try.

Misty- I am out of town today and may not make it back here until much later. Enjoy a quiet day.

"Success"

Carol was tidy and clean,
but a loner who was mostly unseen.
Her isolation made her sadder,
and made her parents even madder,
until Carol built them a new ladder.

Carol's talents slowly became wiser
and in time she discovered a geyser.
Her new inventions were analytic
and made her parents far less acidic.

All this banished their haggle
and Carol no longer cried,
for she now had considerable pride,
and felt so great that she no longer sighed.

Interesting comment, Owen, about your writing poems in general. Whatever, I enjoy all your poems every morning.

No problem at all, CanadianEh!, just glad to see you back. And thank you for your kind comments on my verse.

Looking forward to your morning haiku, OMK.
