โ€œHey, Hey!โ€
Perhaps Iโ€™ll read some Rabelais,
or stream an epic matinee.

Whatever else Iโ€™m apt to play,
Iโ€™ll lift a glass of beaujolais
to celebrate my holiday.

I must do it so often, I have no choice.
Santa Claus, at a bus stop, that mysterious noise!
Clutching my article,
I do it till tomorrow.
Then whatever comes, and I rejoice!

Orijinz:
The prettiest place I ever saw
Was the hamlet of Coal, West Va.
I got caught speeding,
The warning, I'm heeding.
The nice village policeman, he's Coal's law!

"Gritty Girl"

Iris was a singular entity
with a complex and interesting identity.
She was the daughter of a shrink
who taught her of herself to think.

One day Iris broke a window
which caused a big uproar.
Her cut was treated with iodine,
and she is now no longer sore.

To recover, her dog she did cuddle
and that helped her get through this muddle.
She is now happy and does no longer wonder
how she will manage on her days down under.

Ol' Man Keith,
you're on the way
to make your Sunday
happy and gay.

,
glad you won't be needing
any help to stop the bleeding
because no accident occurred
since the policeman you heard.

CanadianEh!,
we really miss you:
your verse is a favorite issue,
and never makes us need a tissue.

Thunder Down Under

There came a huge uproar, trees were blown,
As a zigzag of lightening (entity unknown)
Was seen through the window,
Stinging the eyes like iodine on a cut.
The children began to shrink in fear, lying low,
The dog cuddled up in their bed, a shaking mutt.
They await motherโ€™s hugs to calm the unknown.

Sorry I did not get a chance to warn you that I would be away all day today.
My offering was quickly composed - those J words were disjointed and hard to string into a logical poem. Interesting that Misty and I both had a dog cuddling or being cuddled. What is it about dogs that gives them this โ€œsecurity blanketโ€ entity?

Wonderful to have you back, CanadianEh!, along with one your your interesting poem. So glad to get this at the end of the day. And how sweet that we did indeed both have dog cuddling in our verses!

See you all tomorrow!
