Early today (tomorrow).
Had a little hiccup with clue word three, but got it.
I extracted the letters for the second and third parts of the solution, because they seemed obvious, but then, would you believe, I stared at the remaining seven letters for awhile before the word popped out at me.
Sometimes the simplest things come hardest.
Timmy was a normal lad, with normal ways to play.
At the beach, he'd trawl the sand for shells he could display.
He liked to run and bicycle, climb hills and slide down their sides.
Dismayed by worn-out clothes, his mom shook her head and sighed.
He liked to ride in the family coupe, the stereo turned loud.
He liked to go to the county fair, and get lost in the crowd!
He liked the corn dogs and cotton candy the vendors had for sale.
He liked to slurp Slush Puppies, tho brain freeze would never fail!
Well, I had no trouble with the items in this Jumble, and I also immediately got the third word of the solution. But the first two words stumped me, and I hoped that Owen's poem would help. Found all the five words I already had in the poem, but nothing that helped with the two stumpers, so I had to look them up. Aha! So obvious, in retrospect. And then going back to Owen's poem, sure enough, there they were. Not my most successful Jumble, but still lots of fun. And I'm so glad we have this blog spot where we can play around with our Jumbles.

Love the pictures this poem evokes. Tommy sounds like a good kid, though his mother probably heaves a sigh of relief when he goes to sleep at night.
The solution was very artfully disguised, I thought.
I agree, Sandyanon, and the solution should be cleverly disguised as it was in Owen's poem.
And Timmy sounds ok too, LOL.
The spelling for Timmie's apparel slowed me. The riddle itself not too hard.
The multi-vowel words are always tough but the four went pretty quick .
I see the dreaded Wilbur poesy brought Erato flying to the rescue.
