I guess I'll take my break tonight--to make up for the one I didn't take last night.
I look forward to being your audience tomorrow.

"Good Food"
The restaurant served food that was spicy,
though reviewers found it a bit dicey.
Yet its atmosphere was very friendly
and that made the place quite trendy.
So we decided to go on a lark
and to the restaurant we did embark.
We came home with great food in a pouch
and served it to friends on our couch.
Their enjoyment of it didn't waiver
and they loved the depth of its flavor.
So we sent the restaurant a card
to say they deserved an award.
Glad, Misty, they found a congenial eatery. And now the pandemic is easing, they could enjoy face-to-face dining & unmasked, open-pored absorption of that double-friendly atmosphere!
The restaurant's generous portions & take-out service helped to provide additional meals for their friends on the couch. I wonder that the dicey spiceyness was within tolerable limits, without the atmosphere to compensate. From the satisfaction they registered on that card, they may be willing in future to skip the atmosphere and just order through Doordash or that Grub service.
So many restaurants & customers have learned to do it that way over the past year, it looks like home delivery will continue for many restaurants.
Meanwhile, a strong Yelp review may be the restaurant's "reward"!

Thank you, Ol' Man Keith, for your generous review--
and the restaurant thanks you too.
Hmm. Looks like it's just you today, Misty.
And only two days ago we couldn't beat them back with a feather pen!
You are certainly the most loyal poet of all.

Thank you, Ol' Man Keith. I wonder if it's the weather that has everybody a bit unsettled. Talked to my Dad and brother in Pennsylvania and it was not great there. And it's been unusually wet and cold here in California. Let's hope that tomorrow will be better for everyone.

Failure to follow the suggestions is dicey at best

Keep the Big Book in a pouch by your side and avoid the inanity.
Purchase it don't borrow. It will be an investment that pays.
Don't fall for the trendy search for an easier, softer way.

Misty, spicy food is not too dicey for your friends. I'm glad they didn't waive the doggy bag and the spice didn't waver them from the flavor.
The combination of better profits from drive through and delivery and shortage of waitstaff has led to some places only doing takeout
Wilbur, wonderful to get your clever, terrific poem! So happy that you checked in with us today. The advice the speaker of your verse gives is so thoughtful and serious, it creates a very meaningful piece of work. Again, thank you for this gift today.
Also thank you for the kind response to my poem. Yes, with the pandemic, take-out has become far more common, hasn't it?
Wilbur, I googled the 12 steps, and it's a good thing I'm not an alcoholic, because I could never sincerely say the majority of those things. Glad they seem to help a lot of people, though.
