FLN, Wilbur ~ Thanks for the continuing saga of Chet. I don’t recall Neal from earlier posts. He sounds like a sensible presence in Chet’s rehab.
Your stanza works well—at least for me—proving once more the solid virtue of an ABBA CC scheme. Hard to beat that.
But I think I’ll try straight As today…

“No Pause for Claus!”
Awake the reindeer, hitch ‘em to the sleigh;
clear sheep & nanny goats outta the way!
Let Santa sculpt a path with his beacon ray!
Pray for his return in the morning-gray!*

*Misty ~ write about beginning life with German. This rhyme only occurred to me because one of the words for “dawn” in German (if memory serves me) is das Morgengrauen. Isn’t that right?
"Granny Claus"
On Christmas morning she'd awake,
ready a chocolate cake to bake.
She was not only my favorite "Granny"
but also cared for me like a nanny.
And so I always cheered and gulped
when Christmas cookies she would sculpt.
And later, on that special day,
she would take me out to ride in a sleigh.
Yes, sweet Granny really my favorite was
because she was also my Santa Claus.

Misty ~ Sorry that my first footnote words to you were incomplete--and so probably unclear in meaning.
I accidentally clipped my initial line.
Instead of beginning with a peremptory "write about beginning life with German,"
it should have said, "I noticed that you sometimes write about beginning life with German."
Since posting, I double-checked an online dictionary and, Yes, it is correct: "Das Morgengrauen" is one way to say "the dawn" auf Deutsch.
