FLN, Misty ~ There was more to my 2nd poem, but if you weren’t doing the W, it couldn’t make much difference.

Today’s Jumble haiku:

No Pay Add-Ons

Nanny’s engagement-
width earns no benefits. She
can only clamor.

My father's clock played a piano.
He got it at the Rio hispaรฑo.
He told me the dues
Were a thousand smackeroos!
Ma drove it home in her Torino!

Mow Lawn Tenant

Why the clamor over our new resident?
Others should not be so hesitant.
What a grand addition!
And engaged in the right position,
The width and breadth of our property
Is chomped to a fine degree.
Nanny goat resides rent-free.

Owen gives us a poem with all the multiple meanings of the W.

OMK- we had a totally different revision to get our titles, and that set me on a different path. Interesting.

"Nimble Nanny"

The nanny did sweetly with children engage,
enjoying them at every age.
Even when they produced noise and clamor,
they still did Nanny enamor.
She taught them how to dance,
and did movies to them show,
so they were low maintenance
during all the years they did grow.
In return their affection was canny
as they yelled, "We love you, Nanny!"

Yes, CEh! Our takes are indeed different.
Your “new resident,” the “Nanny goat” is obviously welcome.
It is wonderful to have such a constant worker who doesn’t see it as work at all!.

Misty ~ Yours is a traditional (human) nanny, blessed with the patience & talents to relate to kids. And to impart life skills to them.
Your poem captures the right spirit, the selflessness and mutual love.

I guess we don’t see so many of these old dears any more because middle class families are no longer so large. They don’t have so many kids, and can’t afford to include Nannies as part of their lifelong live-in families.

(Following Owen’s lead…)
Oh, that Canyon ain’t so big,
and the Coulee Dam’s no giant.
Getting away at Theft Auto with a rig,
(the scoring’s usually not so pliant)
and that Torino, and a full-sized van,
all for the price of just one thou.

Ah Misty- your Nanny sounds like a wonderful person, with patience and skill to care for the children. No wonder they lived her. And if they were low maintenance, it was because she had taught and trained them well. (I liked the clamor/enamor rhyme.)

OMK- you follow in Owen’s footsteps nicely.

Cherry Blossoms is a new picture puzzle at Jigidi. 30 pieces pieces default, tho you can now very it from 9 to several hundred.

Ol' Man Keith, your poor nanny really needs some help. Urge her to join her local worker's union.

CanadianEh!, your nanny goat seems to be much loved by your family, if not your neighbors. Wish they could be a little kinder and support her too.

Owen, how cool that Dad can listen to lovely piano music on his clock!

Wilbur, you clearly worked today's LA Times crossword puzzle, and so got introduced to Mike Trout. Or have you been already following him on TV? Either way, nice you're a fan.

Hopefully M. PVX doesn't read comments in here. It's a name (Mike TROUT) obvious to MLB aficionados but foreign to many xw'ers

I forgot to solve the J order than WIDTH which was my W starter

What's with Wordle? Two days in a row than solution was close to the suggested bot starter(as OMK points out

My mother with five kids could have used a NANNY, especially since the oldest were boys. Then again aunt NORA had nine. I think her sister helped
