FLN, Misty ~ I think perhaps you missed my final posting on June 2nd, regarding my UCI email restoration.
If you have any working email address (maybe a gmail acct?), use it to contact me at my usual UCI email.

Now, here’s my weekly valediction…
“My Day of รฤแนadassana”
I confess I’m somewhat fanatical
for my once-a-week sabbatical.
I treasure my chance to rejuvenate
& from daily chores to absquatulate.
To stay on the job I’m sorely disinclined,
& so fling a “Farewell!” to those I leave behind.
It’s time to rescue my butt from our poetic beat—
from bad rhymes, dull themes, and miscounted feet.
And after ridding my soul of all that’s impure,
I’ll be back from my “cure”—Monday morning—for sure!
~ OMK
Every preacher has, at one time or another,
Wondered how to make his sermons more exciting.
Maybe preach to music, like that rap star Usher?
Would a Hip-Hop beat make his service more inviting?
Could he switch his hymnals, for a folk song compilation?
Singing Kumbaya to replace Blessed Assurance?
How would that go over, with his congregation?
Would that lead astray, or contribute to adherence?
Could he hire a jester to juggle while he spoke,
Balls to represent the seven deadly sins,
And during the collection, tell religious jokes.
How would that affect the donations coming in?
All these silly notions passing thru his mind --
To call them all ironic, would that be unkind?
Beauty, it's said, will find its own.
Equals in cottage or on throne.
A vain with a vain,
So plain with so plain,
Thankfully, love will grow where it's sown.

"Bright Writer"
The comic notion did Jane excite
and it put her in motion
some scripts to write.
Soon a director did request her
texts to pass on to his jester,
whose performance was ironic and not astray
and did Jane a helpful income pay.
Now Jane's hymnal is her symbol
as she enters her prime,
and she'll compose some church music
at this other time.
Thank you, Ol' Man Keith, but at the moment my computer problems seem more or less, if not perfectly, resolved. But I copied the number on your e-mail in case I will need to call UCi to get help again--many thanks for that suggestion
Ol' Man Keith, I will never stop being amazed that not only have you not taken Sunday off for a sabbatical, but you arrive with even more complicated poems, like the one with the word asquatulate!
Owen, I loved your verse about that thoughtful preacher--very kind and clever. Only I found it interesting that you rhymed "another" with "Usher." Too bad you couldn't rhyme "another" with Usher's "brother."
"Wilbur," I'm going to see if today's Wordle starts with "Y."
We miss you, CanadianEh!. Have a great weekend.
Not as simple as I thought it would be, but I got it in only three tries:

Have a fun Sunday, everybody!
Since CEh! isn't here to elucidate my W l'ick, I'll explain it's a simple acrostic, with the very first word giving an extra tip.
