There are several other Jumble blogs, but the ones I checked all started off by listing the answers. In this blog, answers can be either hinted at or masked by burying them in comments. No overt spoilers!
Burma was abuzz with the hospital's news -- Word that a new malady had hit Mandalay! Patients once perky would now only snooze. To a man in a hurry, it would cause man delay!
Doctor Thuta is concerned for the serum sought. The victims turned white, and were near-coma state. He finishes his rounds, then heads upstairs to the loft. To ponder a cure, and to contemplate.
They recovered once they woke, and turned darker again. Shrewdly, he checked their files, which were flagged. Sure enough, all the victims had had jet-black skin. So Doc Thuta's diagnosis -- they all were jet-lagged!
Woohoo! Woohoo! For the first time--maybe ever--I got the Jumble theme reveal at the bottom before I had filled in any of the four above answers. I read the cartoon and the answer just popped right up. That of course made it pretty easy to fill in the four items. After getting a perfect Gail and Bruce puzzle, this made my day. (Well, the Sudoku still isn't finished, but maybe this afternoon).
Good for you, Misty! This was one that threw me - and I didn't even know it. For the first time I was proud that I could do it in my head. No marking the letters down on the page, no eliminating them one by one. Nope - all in my head, inside the Ol' Walnut!
Only problem was, I had it wrong. I got the second word right, naturally. But I thought the first one was SHADE. That made partial sense, with the reference in the cartoon to Halloween and SHADE being a variant of Ghost. But no, I didn't like it. I actually thought the editors had erred on the second prelim word, where they should have given us a "K." That might have led to the first word being SHAKE. Aha! Now that made sense, but only if there had been a big screw-up.
Feeling righteous, I handed the Jumble to my wife to see what she thought. Janice glanced at it, then handed it back to me - with the correct answer.

I flew thru this one. Each word jumped our at me. I found each of them in your ICU room.

I wrote the four Jumbles down right off my head. I have to fill them in because I immediately forget them and it's the same as starting over.
But to solve the riddle I did write down the letters . Then it popped right up much like Ms OMK

Let's see if this brain is really functioning as I see Bruce Haight is our Friday guest tormentor
