Spring break, that fabled time when youth go on a spree!
They hit the beaches and the bars, from "childhood" they are free!
Eighteen years and up and they pretend they're even older.
YOLO is their motto, You Only Live Once, enjoy before it's over!

Ah, youngsters think they're wiser than their elders and their sires,
But they know the clock is running, Father Time never tires.
In a few years they'll be telling "dad jokes" to sound folksy
They'll become like their parents, in Kiwanis or the Rotary.

As they are, once were we; as we are they shall become.
We can but watch with trepidation -- but also envy, some.
Some will go for golden rings, most at some point will be broke.
So let them have their fun making the memories at age to invoke!

I read this lovely poem with nostalgia -- but also relief, some. It's good to feel you've reached a calm harbor.

Speaking of Rotary, I never knew much about it, until my daughter joined her local group. It's really very active worldwide in philanthropic causes. And it has broadened her horizons considerably.

Lovely poem using the Jumble items in your theme this morning, Owen. I had trouble only with #3, but got it fairly quickly, and then went on to the solution which popped out instantly. I didn't have to go for verbal bankruptcy on this one.

This was easy. I finished it all in under five minutes. I'm not young but my mind can still unscramble letters. In a few weeks when my family goes to Redlands for the Believe Walk we'll be near the beach.
Owen, you really nailed it!

Hey, where is everybody! Come on, Jumble players--we love hearing your comments!

I know. It's rather sparse today, isn't it? Can't be that the Jumble was too difficult, because it was pretty easy. And such a fine poem for people to miss!
