Geese in a V, flying north or south
Flying low over an A frame house.
I watch them, and think gee,
I wish you were with me.
It's lonely up here, eh, without my spouse!
Today’s Jumble haiku:
(The height of tides is governed by forceful winds and the twice-daily shift of the moon’s gravitational pull.
Mo, a dried-up old sea dog, reports to a helmsman…)
“Mo, Dessicated:”
“G’d day, Mate! The sea’s
high t’day—but most tides’ll
be close’ut sundown.”

A cat, you know, is a docile pet.
She sleeps so much, she's feed and forget.
She'll play with a string, or laser dot,
Then resume her nap, that she forgot.
She seems so tame and domesticated,
Yet to tigers and lions, she's related.
Then, at sunset, lethargy will cease
The cat will become a roving beast!
She'll yowl and howl for release
To search out mice, to torture and eat!
She'll do her utmost to live up to her kin,
Until with the dawn, when she's docile again.
Does she dream of catnip, to make her giddy?
She's such a peaceful, purr-full kitty!
"Domesticated"
The children were totally giddy
when they were given a kitty.
With the utmost care
they built her a home in their closet,
where any treats they were happy to share
they did each day deposit.
They never ceased to please her,
and did daily kiss and squeeze her.

If you love “all things sunset”, here is a suggestion for a visit.
“Sunset Dome (at Hidden River Cave in Kentucky) is named for its resemblance to a sunset. From the shape of the dome to the yellow, orange, and red hues of the rocks, this expansive dome truly is breathtaking.”
Message Taken (of the) Dome
I never cease to wonder
At a sunset’s beauty,
Try my utmost to be subtler,
And not be too giddy
At the riot of colour
Painted for all to see
Across the western sky.
No vague closet admirer am I.
Owen- I see your acrostic of the Wordle (except eh has the wrong vowel sound for the last letter. Or have I been hoodwinked again?)
OMK- I understand there were two versions of the third J word today. I used all of them (plus the W) nakedly. You have done a marvellous job of hiding the four you had (and yes I searched and found all of them! Plus a synonym for my theme)
That J answer was a bear to remake!
Owen has kept to the tame theme with his ode to cats. They are my favourite animal!
Misty and Owen had different third J words, but Misty offers a lovely kitty story as well. And kitties do love treats.
WC- good work getting from second to third Wordle guess!
CEh! I don't understand what you mean about 2 anagrams for J3.
You're right, eh for E is stretching it, but I didn't have much choice. There was nothing closer.
Owen- apparently some newspapers used Closet for J3 and some used Sunset (it was the SET letters that were circled so it didn’t affect the answer). OMK had close’ut and sundown. We’ll have to see if it was intentional. Today is his birthday and he may not get back here.
Happy Birthday OMK!
Don't wanna set off a powder keg
by posting the W-word, or beg
w/ a bow, a scrape, or a given leg.
I had it in two, but will be a good egg
& admit I saw a hint. (I dasn't be a yegg!)

I did have a version, CEh, that ended in "sun's setting," but I didn't like it.
Given the two choices, I went back and opted for "sundown," a rhythmic improvement.
Thanks for the b'day SO.
I got some nice gifts this a.m., but given the nasty weather predictions for SoCal, we did most of our celebrating on Tuesday.

Misty ~ Enjoyed your treatment of the children and their kitty.
I may be a dog person now, but I grew up with cats. We usually had two or three at a time.
They are much easier to handle than dogs, but the trade off is clear. They need us less than dogs do, and the mutual affection is (usually, NOT always) less.
Personally, I had more respect than love for our adult cats.
Your kissed & squozen kitty is surely a delight. As people often say, "Too bad they have to grow up!"

Your tribute to "Sunset Dome," CanadianEh, is a marvel of a condensed promo. I never heard of the place before now, and only wish I were up to travel these days.
I must rely on your excellent tickling of my imagination.
~ OMK
Each line makes its own contribution to the W-word, Owen.
I could enjoy your short piece for itself, w/o any encoding, but each letter or phoneme adds to the pleasure.

Happy Birthday, Ol' Man Keith, we should have give you a huge celebration today!
So glad you had a wonderful day celebrating yesterday, with our complicated weather coming up.
Hope we all stay safe. Looks like you may have been thinking of weather in your first neat haiku today. And thank you for all your kind messages.
Owen, I loved your first verse about the geese, but then came your delightful tribute to that sweet cat--this will be one of my favorites from you!
CanadianEh!, appreciated your tribute to lovely weather, given what we might face in the next few days--very poetic and aesthetic! And thank you for your kinds words for me and everyone.
Great Wordles today, Wilbur and CE--congratulations!
Hbd #84 OMK
