Ginny has a broken leg,
The injury will ground her.
No more going thither and hither,
To go out at all, she has to beg.
Her upbringing was to obey
Her mothers orders, stern.
Still, one classmate she did burn
With a spicy prank one day!
He was a bully she abhorred,
Who she blamed her fall on.
Other classmates would all call on
Ginny, who on evil scored!
No cast could keep her from the joys
Of bigger pranks on bigger boys!
Restless hikers, at the break of day,
Anxious to be on their Appalachian way.
New sights to see,
Good air so free,
Enchanting scenes at each foray!

HARE, HARE HAREโฆ,
FLN: Glad to know your busker will be coming back, CEh!
We donโt know what interfered with his cavorting, but it hasnโt broken his spirit; thatโs what counts.
Thanks for your good wishes for my time off!
Misty ~ Iโm grateful for your kind complimentary verse.
When it comes to composing poetry, Iโm sure your Jane is writing โhotterโ lines than Iโve got on my blotter!
(But no firmer than soft-core, certainly.)

Todayโs Jumble haiku:
(The majority of intentional wounds are not inflicted in anger but are meant as gags that get out of hand. Being purposeful, they are likely to cause unusual markings, or at least large onesโฆ)
โScuff-Dingingโ
Pranks that wound must lead
to spicy injuriesโif
not to bigger ones.

I was reading a piece on the optimal starter words for Wordle. Apparently researchers at MIT favor SALET, a small medieval helmet. Exactly what the researchersโ status is at MIT is not stated, so I am a little wary.
Bill Gates is given a couple of sentences in the article, and he likes AUDIO, OUNCE, & ADIEU, the last being the word I used for a few months.
The NY Times created the WordleBot that has gone through a list of seven words starting with CRANE. Over time the Bot added CRATE, SLATE, SLANT, and a couple of others. It has lately returned to CRANE, which happens to be the word I started with yesterdayโand today.
Some of the starters mimic one another. I donโt see a real difference between SALET and SLATE. Or CARTE and CRATE.
And is there really much to be gained in a rivalry between a 2nd or 3rd level success and that of a 5th or 6th?
There are over 170,000 words in the English language. Solving a Wordle in six attempts is already pretty impressive.

Bringing Abrupt Healing
The foolish prank
Done to Frank,
Left him with an injury
In his left knee,
Bigger than expected
For an idea misdirected.
His range of motion
Improved with a lotion
Of spicy capsaicin
Applied to the skin.
Owen gives us a marvellous J poem (with Ginny from the other day).
Plus an acrostic of the W, with imagery of the W to boot.
OMK- our thoughts matched about pranks that get out of hand. That reveal today was a difficult one to use for a title.
Re Bot W starters: I still like to use some combo of STARE. But I must admit that CRANE served you well today.
"Parenting"
The kids had a happy upbringing
with bells ringing and parents singing.
Their father held a high rank
and did not approve of a prank.
But he trained his kids with much rigor,
and their skills were spicy and bigger.
An injury gave their Dad a sad end
and his children did him commend.
And to this day they do him thank
for not permitting a harmful prank.
Seems he was a nice Dad, Misty, raising his kids with discipline. Too bad his end was sad, but his memory is a cause for grace.
CEh! ~ Your Frank รฎs facing his wound with fortitude--and apparently the right kind of lotion.
I haven't heard of capsaicin before this. Is it big in Canada?
~ OMK
Misty- what a sad end for a dad who although strict, seemed to be well respected by his children.
OMK- actually it is capsaicin cream (Zostrix), but I had to rhyme with lotion LOL. It is useful for arthritis pain relief, but its use has been overtaken by Voltaren cream.
Many thanks for your kind comments about my "Dad", OMK and CE!-- you've made my day! And thank you for your neat haiku, OMK, and your delightful verse about Frank CE!. And, Owen, let's hope Ginny has a more peaceful life as she gets older.
