Donuts are hard to give up.
Ask any cop or his pup.
For a K-nine like Snoopy,
He'd give up empty duty
For a schmeer to go with his sup.

Dream Crop

Ah the exquisite presentation
(Truly a mouth-watering sensation)
Of a prime time bagel,
With canola-based spread or cream cheese,
Topped with flecks of sesame seeds.
Be sure to check the label
It must be made with malt powder.
It’ll be tasty served with chowder.

I just figured out the riddle-solution from OMK 's spoon

"Cake Bake"

Patty was in her prime
looking forward to a great time.
She liked to cook and make chowder
and dusted tarts with flecks of baking powder.

She liked canola and whipped cream
and baking cakes was her biggest dream.
She at last a baking contest did top
and now feels like the cream of the crop.

Erratum:
Last line = prime black chicken well!

Misty’s Patty’s cakes & tarts are doing well, sustaining her author’s prize-winning record! Brava!

Reading CanadianEh’s mouth-watering recipe tells me her schmeer is likely to give Patty a contest!

Wilbur weighed in just enough to let us know that sesame is in the majority.

My own research produced the astonishing datum of an Indian chicken whose white meat is black.

Not just one, but two, helpful hints this morning helped me get today's Wordle in a single try:

Thank you, friends, for those great breakfast clues!

Don't know how you do it, Ol' Man Keith, but once again you worked solution and all four Jumble words into a complicated and mysterious haiku! Cheers!

Loved your Snoopy poem, Owen. Hope he enjoyed his schmeer with his supper.

Only you, CanadianEh!, could come up with rhyming "an exquisite presentation" with "a mouth-watering sensation." I'd nominate you for a poetry prize for that one!

Wilbur, thanks for reminding us of Kareem's name!

Great fun blog morning--thanks, everyone!

Another full day. Enjoyed you all.
Thanks for the poetry prize Misty. This creative outlet has improved my ability to rhyme!

While donuts are hard, even with a schmeer, the actual solution was Snoopy (a BEAGLE) gave up Empty.
