The first request was simple, a directory not even secret.
Travis knew he was being tested, so complied with no regret.
Next was a policy white paper, secret but already leaked.
So far it was all child's play, nothing to get anyone freaked.

Next was a top-secret document, which Travis couldn't cop,
But a favor called from a senator got a copy quick as thought.
The document looked valid, Travis felt a worried chill.
Slim told him it would be a fake, but doubting warned him shrill.

Before he turned it over to his Russian interlocutor
He decided he would check it out with his F.B.I. recruiter!
He drove to the suburban office, but signs were no longer there.
The building now was lawyers, or for dentistry, climb a stair!

(To be continued.)

This was fun! One interesting fact about English is that the use of digraphs and blends calls for fewer vowels. And seeing so many consonants and so few vowels can be disconcerting and give one a big headache and a need for advil. However, that was not the case for me today. It all came together like child's play and Owen, your poem continues to be intriguing. What will happen to Travis??????

Wonderful Tuesday Jumble. I got each one of the four items without any problems, and the solution popped up instantly! Loved it in relation to the cute cartoon especially. And then came here and was delighted to find everything in Owen's poem. And I too will start following the adventures of Travis now that I have a more valid and less shrill sense of who that is.

Thanks for your concern abt my absence, Misty. As you may have seen from my Corner note, our internet was down for the past couple of days. But even so, I haven't been posting as much because I'm trying to wean myself from so much time on the web. I have some writing to do & fear this is too tempting a diversion.
I still look in & may post from time to time.
Wishing everyone well ...

Fourth try; my posts keep getting eaten.

Fascinated by Travis' venture into espionage. I hope he can keep up with the professionals.

The jumble was pretty easy today; with just a momentary hiccup at the solution. Quickly hit the d'oh moment, though. My first thought was that the cartoon was more true than funny.

Looking forward to tomorrow's installment.

Reminds me of my son's foray into Child Drama . As Betsy said ""At least he knew his lines".

I like your new J policy Misty. Glad to see OMK is alive and well. So inconsiderate of him to place productive work ahead of jumbled and XWords.

That CC forum can really eat time . On top of weekend xwords .

I knocked this off quickly - I see I arranged Advil

WC

Ps. Travis is indeed one of Phil's friends OUT THERE (in cyber land)

I'm sure it is true. From experience, also of adults.

Like others I knocked this out in record time, 1:40 min., with 960 points.
