The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

I spent several years researching the relationship between acting and hypnosis. One of the more interesting findings was that in the middle of a live performance, actors will sometimes feed themselves a gestural or musical cue to trigger a sly trance even as an audience is watching. This aids their ability to release certain emotions, while neither the audience nor their scene partners are aware that the technique is being employed.

On the stage of their iconic Vegas venue,
The famous magical team of Penn & Teller
Will vanish things to try and stump you.
Teller's mute, and Penn's a beefy feller.

On the first day of jousting Wilfred sent the faithful Gurth
To the abode of Isaac to pay the horse and armor's worth.
When Gurth returning was waylaid by a robber band
It was by chance that it was the archer, Locksley, in command.
And in another venue when Gurth and Wamba did elude
The Norman ambush. Who should they meet but Robin Hood.
Locksley quickly sent for the Curtle Friar, Tuck
And joining the beefy cleric by fortuitous luck
Was the mysterious knight who'd saved the day at the Lists
Then vanished. He was gone before the Prince knew he was missed.
The unknown Knight of course was the iconic Coeur de Lion
A name that caused dread in foes and lovely ladies to swoon.

Wow, four lines and a gloss got'em all.
Sandy, my TB-Times has an insert on Sunday with the weeks xwords and jumbles. And.... The answers. I've done then all; Saturday I did yesterday morning at breakfast. Then...
I just had to check a couple of answers. They were right and then I noticed a little nugget where I had a stupid mistake. One letter. I hate that since it's so obvious.
Tomorrow, Thursday, was my fav of the week. Baseball clues.

Thank you, thank you, our delightful poets, Keith and Wilbur.
I had trouble with the fourth word for some reason and so couldn't get the solution either. But, as I had hoped, the Jumblers came through, with delightful stories and verses and poems, that gave me the fourth word and the fun solution (pretty obvious, but still neat, when it filled in).
I used to love to gamble back in the old days, including playing games at casinos, on holiday trips. Never risked too much, never won too much-- except occasionally by--accident.
We were talking about "All in!" which is used in that 3 card poker game. I never played that one; five and seven card stud.
Betsy went to one of those Church "Nights" thinking she might win dishes or something only to find a casino.
