He heard that sometimes in the wake of atomic bomb tests, scientists discovered the radiation had hastened the development of certain food crops on the outer fringes of the blast zones.
With this in mind, he placed several of his spring flower packets in the microwave in order to nuke his seeds.

A cartoonish sketch of firemen at work
might inspire, or reveal the subjects as jerks.
All depends on your sense of play.

The men in the front are singed by the heat
while a broken hose douses those in retreat
as they nimbly scamper away.

The battalion chief wears asbestos beads.
Some witch of a dame said "t'would suit his needs."

I just posted my Sunday 10J's plus two riddle-solutions. Then I noticed your message about your father, Misty.

I echo OMK in my prayers for a speedy recovery and my support in your concern.

Best wishes

Final line of above?

"Go ahead, Make my day"

Went back and read your Sunday poem, Wilbur. Very "narrative-y", but left us hanging at the end! Looking forward to more.

I dunno, Wilbur--Maybe, maybe...
Meanwhile, how about this for your missing fourth line?
“And the dame felt her age all the more...”
? ? ?

Your suggestion isn't bad at all.
I think it comes down at the wire to yours and--
"Whack fo' the diddle-oh, the di-doh-day!"
Whaddya say?

I can't find (FLN) where that line could be inserted OMK.

I like your di-doh idea.

Right after
"As the spindle rotated upon the floor..."

" As the spindle rotated upon the floor,
Into the chamber was brought"

That was one line. The next line ended with "...lost in thought"

These are six accent lines as you've observed. What gets in the way is a name like Athelstane or Front de Boeuf.
I think I have with Bilbo used [Gandalf said].. [Elrond said]

I'll try that next time. I've been busy all day. Perhaps I'll double up with Monday-tuesday J's.

And ... Just like in the original, I'm going back and forth both with the people and the time line. The fake brigands put Isaac, Rebecca, Rowena and Cedric (with Athelstane) in different parts of Front de Boeuf's castle. Meanwhile, Gurth and Wamba escape and meet up with Locksley. The three go to Friar Tuck's cell where the knight incognito is drinking and singing with the Curtle Friar

The band , now 209 strong, surround Front de Boeuf's castle and interrupt the goings on with the five prisoners.
