Today’s Jumble haiku:
(Shakespeare’s hags tend to their cauldrons with great care, and alliteratively….)

Best-Bet Brews

Their third kettle burned,
bubbled, & bobbled. Witches
do boil… fussily.

I was up the creek
Seemed like a week
No oar, just a paddle
Thus ends this twiddle, twaddle

Come on! I just wrote about today's Wordle in the CC on the 13th!

When the ocean is upset,
Dashing waves sunrise to set,
Tums aren't enough
To sooth this rough --
Has it tried Pepto-Bismol yet?

Baby Bobby was awake again.
Third time tonight Mama to drain.
But this was Papa's turn to hobble
In with Bobby's baby bottle.

Bobby, fussy at his best,
Made no secret, his request.
Milk as warm as Mama's teat
Was what baby Bobby'd eat.

Warm the bottle in the kettle
Hoping that the milk will settle
Baby's hunger. Oh, he's wet!
Can't get back to bed just yet.

Want to bet he's poopy, too?
Diaper filled with smelly goo.
Change the nappy, wipe the rotten
Smell from Bobby's baby bottom.

Caring done, see Papa toddle
Bedward, as Bobby bobbles bottle!

I started with the Bot word, and then this Canadian knew how to make love.

This (is the) Best Yet

Going camping,
But not glamping?
Don’t forget
That your best bet
Is not to be fussy
About things being mussy.
Forget the kettle,
Show your mettle.
Don’t bobble the canoe
As mosquitoes you shoo.
By the third day
Your smell will keep them away.

OMK- What a great Macbeth connection. I wonder if the third kettle had eye of newt or wool of dog too. The title was hard to Spooner today. I appreciated the “burned, bubbled and bobbled” alliteration.

Owen- Yes, your verse from CC May 13 was PROPHETIC. And I see your anagram of the W in today’s poem.
And WC gives us a W poem today too!

Owen- I smiled broadly at your Baby Bobby poem. (Good timing after Mother’s Day.). Fortunately, Bobby would take a bottle and give Mom a break. And Papa got a workout with wet and poopy diaper. LOL.
We certainly all went in different directions with the J words today. Where will Misty take us?

FLN- like Misty, I will take my rest day whenever I am overloaded. But it will probably be Saturday, as that tends to be my busiest day with the family.

"Poker Playing"

They had invited Pete as a guest
because his poker playing was the best.
He did not bobble his bets
and wracked up only a third of the debts.

The fussy hostess put on a kettle
while the players their debts did settle.
In the end Pete won a case of beer
and his team did him happily cheer.

Sorry to be late to return to the page. I have been working today with a local handyman to plan on additional "toppings" to our property's walls, all needed to prevent coyotes from invading and threatening our small dogs.

Glad you appreciated my Macbeth tribute, CEh! I enjoyed your camping advice, especially your conclusion. When I went camping with my family as a kid, our mom would not have allowed the personal repellent you mention. But when I spent my annual two weeks at the Boy Scout camp, the mosquitoes would all have known me by name and distance.

Owen ~. Your baby bottle piece is a sheer delight. Thanks for that!

Misty ~. Your Poker Pete is lucky to have you as his author. Inevitably, he gets to maintain his champion status in your hands.

I’m late getting back also.
OMK- I am so sorry to read from the weekend about your coyote scare. Hopefully the walls can be improved to give you peace of mind in letting out the dogs.

Misty takes the J words and gives us Poker Pete. I’m guessing that if the hostess made tea with the water from the kettle, that it was ignored, as the winning team shared the case of beer.
