In high fantasy historic sagas
Barbarians' thews make girls go gaga.
And Amazonian fighters
In brass bras have lighter
Armor over the rest than their tatas!

Été '72

Once in September, lazing on the Riviera—
a radiant day spent in love of Vinifera
in little St. Maxime* I dreamed of a journée personnelle
a day of delectations that rang a cheerful bell.

Such a day I wish for each & all my friends,
to refresh their spirits (& mental neurons cleanse)!
They needn’t travel all the way to southern France
to enjoy the pleasures seen in this brief glance;
No! all they need to relieve their stressful week of work
is a single day of freedom—so’s they’re not a total jerk.

A “Personal Day” Leaves Nothing to Complain.

After grinding out verse with Erato’s juice,
they may be floating in champagne
with no less a soul than Zeus!**

** And Bacchus, of course, the god of wine, but who in this instance fails to rhyme.

Baby Bobby, that little cherub,
Likes to drink his Mama's grub.
He likes taps both one and two,
And wants a third and fourth one, too!

But, alas, to his dismay,
She only has the two today.
This negligent lack has an impact.
He's mad at her, as a matter of fact.

Innocent infant, he can't count.
All he knows is the milk amount.
He's opaque to a fact, biological:
Had she more, she'd be comical!

So with two he must be content,
And concentrate on milky content!

"Big Family"

Having children had little impact
and felt totally matter of fact
to the parents of the new infant
whose birth made the grandparents chant.

The first cherub was very sweet
and served as the family treat.
But within the next year, to their dismay
a second baby was on the way,
then another and another
and soon the kids
had their fourth brother.

This caused no family quake,
having kids was no longer opaque,
and nothing did the parents annoy,
in this big household full of joy.

Ol' Man Keith, I wish we could all have a day on the Riviera like yours.
Lovely! And, frankly, a day much more glamorous than our quiet Sunday here at home.

Owen, I think your sweet Baby Bobby will survive waiting a little for that next serving of milk.
