The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

Hope things are ok, Owen. And you're usually here early, OMK. Hope things are ok with you too.I
Only had a little hiccup with clue four, but with all letters in hand, the solution was simple. Kind of cute.
P.S. Owen, I've tried jigidi. And it is interesting. But honestly, the themes of constructors on jigsaw planet are more my style. And I like the flexibility of the solving options provided. Many thanks for the link, though, and I'll probably dip into the site again from time to time.
I too was hoping for an early Owen poem and an Ol'Man Keith gloss, and hope we'll get them before too long.
I actually had to work on the third Jumble word a little before I got it, and of course that very brief seven letter solution was a gimme. But what a weirdly clever cartoon, made even cuter by the colors! I loved it.
I solved earlier on paper. Just jotting down the letters gave me 3 and 4. Then jotting down seven letters led to the clever solution.

Ps, I'm having withdrawal symptoms from that "Real" re. FLN
As I said, I plead caffeine withdrawal but here we go. Yesterday, Bilbo was in the clutches of trolls. We're flashing back to his awakening from "An Unexpected Party".
As Bilbo settled in for a post breakfast smoke
A loud, persistent knocking on the door awoke
Him to see Gandalf standing at the lobby door,
With urgent summons from Thorin, Son of Thror.
"We depart Bywater at the stroke of eleven".
"Get going now, Bilbo. You've got barely seven
Minutes. The dwarves need their thief!'.
Bilbo dashed out the door without his handkerchief.
Had be known the quest would not be cancelled
He'd have packed his gear off the mantle.
The deal he made with Thorin was hardly kosher
But a deal is a deal, he must bolster
Up his courage, pucker up and stand not aback.
He must just go off hob-knobbing with the dwarvish pack.

I wondered how that
fourth clue could fit into a poem. Kudos to you and Bilbo, Wilbur.I
Not to speak of KIOSK*, FLN
*Which I looked up and "hut" is another meaning
Sorry ~ no gloss today!
I wanted to do a Spooner, but quickly realized a true Spoonerism, even a nonsensical one, is impossible with these two syllables.
Try it. You'll see why.
And no way can a straight rhyme compete with the simple fun of the original.
Whacha gonna do with these, eh?: Bob Fob, Cob Hob, Blob Mob? ?
Maybe Slob Yob is the best of a weak lot...

PS. Flatten the Curve.
PPS. A fine effort, Wilbur!

Thanks Keith. Is everything ok with you? If the"Spoon" shop is closed you can always throw a jumble limerick or something.
I recall a poem from you awhile back that was pretty good.

Delightful poem, Wilbur, and fun gloss, Ol'Man Keith.
I tried to log on an hour ago, but it wouldn't let me, for some reason. Now that we're all trapped at home indefinitely, the last thing we need are computer (or electricity) problems. I'll keep my fingers crossed that all will be well for a while.
