Todayโs Jumble haiku:
โThrough Rome @ (abt) 7 MPHโ
โTis an adage olde:
Online regrets via Zoomph
lack woof & real oomph.
~ OMK
Drove this
Wordle 571 3/6
โฌโฌโฌโฌ๐จ
โฌ๐จ๐ฉ๐จโฌ
๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ
To the finish in three
WC
A (Syn)drome? - Ah (Rue)
A modern adage:
Think twice about your online post.
Something said and regretted later
Cannot be retrieved.
What you thought gave more oomph,
May come back to haunt you.
WC- I see that we tied Wordle today. Your second guess was very useful. Iโm still trying to figure out how what it was?
OMK- I smiled at your title - but this Canadian noted that Italy uses metric for speed (11 km/h in your case).
I am trying to find a link from the title to your great haiku, but conclude that (like me), you had trouble with the disjointed collection of words we were given.
I also smiled that your adage was olde and mine was new.
Zoomph is an ingenious riff on the online platform we all became familiar with during Covid.
Ah, CEh! But my title was measuring speed from my perspective, or as translated to a U.S. viewer.
In any case, I was thinking of Ancient Rome (for the โoldeโ part of my adage), and as you know, they did use the mile (Mille passus), .9 of a modern mile.
Your neat verse is superior to mine, more consistent for sure. My title only relates to the haiku in the most general way.
Your poem makes sweet sense, whereas mine is just jokey wording.
Glad you liked Zoomph, though!

Nice job, Misty, with the capsule version of Fayโs showbiz career.
Your celeb gained a loyal following, to be so well remembered. I bet they quote her adages at fan club meetings.
Iโll expect to see her soon, doing one-on-one with David Letterman!

Misty- Fay sounds like an old time star, with her gentle touch and a hint of oomph. Unlike some of our current crop of unkind judges. It sounds like she had a wonderful career and is enjoying her well-deserved retirement.
OMK- Yes, I stand corrected if you were back in Ancient Rome. (And I suppose I should have seen that with the slow speed!).
And I did like โwoof and oomphโ too.
[Charles clears his throat and speaks]
There's an old adage I read online about regrets
They linger and fester until we finally pay our debts
He was interrupted by a loud haroomph from behind
Coupled with a delicious aroma from the kitchen - Sublime
(Smells like more fondue for supper to ease the anguish)
WC
C-eh, I like to start with no E and today no A. That allowed me to use both of. #2.
Now I was virtually left with only the solution as I'd used up lots of key letters
WC
Was that Nora โharoomphโ-ing, behind Chas?
She would seem the likeliest, WC, a fondue chef among your narrow cast of characters.
But โharoomphโ-isms arenโt exactly a female specialty, are they?
