Keithโs day of rest
is clearly blessed,
for it gives him time
to rest his cerebral mesenchyme.
Today is for the Super Bowl,
a major passage for the soul.
Heโll return Monday refreshed,
gears cleaned & neatly meshed,
and heโll have new & grand ideas
formed by psalms of Erato. She is
dreaming for him, happily
bringing him to an apogee
of rhyme as well as meter
worthy a UCI Anteater!

The army ants are coming around.
They're marching, marching on the ground
A G. I. ant
Will marching, tramp
But you'll never hear them make a sound.
The Russians were rushing to take over Kyiv,
They thought it would take only days.
They thought it as easy as a plie by Nureyev,
A day, then a score, then a gross in this maze.
No hiatus they took from their rockets and bombs,
Their policy included no ceasefire module.
Ukrainian gumption booked no qualms,
They disrupted the invader's schedule!
They fought for their freedom, and ours.
Saying, "Onward", they reclaimed what was lost!
They fought with ammo from Western powers
Who knew being thrifty would too dearly cost!
We sing for the day when this war will end,
When free Ukrainians need no longer defend!
Back on Feb. 5, I entered a poem as a Wordle hint that had been on my mind. There was a second verse to it that I ignored that day because it would have muddied the distinction between puzzles. Here now, I present the full poem:
The King of France
He yearned to dance
All on a summer's day.
A jealous Ella
To keep her fella
Chased all the girls away.
How could he love
This feckless dove,
Who o'er his heart held sway?
When reason fails,
Then love prevails
'Tis true up to this day!
"Saying and Praying"
The teacher's policy was to play by the rule
that the students might need a module.
And her saying became an important tool
to help them stay in school.
So she kept pushing the students to score,
and the kids kept moving onward,
and with a hiatus and thrift and efforts more
they soon in all school contests starred.
Oh, how the mighty are fallen!

February with its 28 days may seem blah this year. Shall we jazz up this blog?
(One not) Two Score (and eight days)
Iโm just saying,
That while OMK is on his Sunday hiatus,
We might rush onward
With a new policy.
Like the LA Times crossword,
We could go mod-
Youโll all hate that!
OK, letโs not cause a giant rift
But see this platform as a gift.
Enjoy your day off (and the Super Bowl) OMK. And donโt worry, we are not really going to revamp this blog today LOL.
I see that OMK has UCI. Anteaters, while Owen has A G.I. ant.
Thank you Owen for that wonderful poem about the Russian war on Ukraine. My husband has Ukrainian ancestry, but no known family members still in the country. But we have taken a special interest (and tried to include our children and grandchildren in learning about their heritage). We join you in singing โfor the day when this war will endโ.
Misty went to school today (with a first verse of rhymes for that J word!). Her students thrived with encouragement, but also a few rests, thrift and effort along the way.
