Todayโ€™s Jumble haiku:
(The C-word demands a serious response. We have lost two little dogs to these predators. In response, weโ€™ve raised our fences and added spikes on top & to an alley window.
These seem to be keeping them out. Todayโ€™s poem imagines a way to protect a pet rodent in a mouse houseโ€”and it may just provide a way out, if youโ€ฆ)

โ€œOwn a Feaze*โ€

A mouse is no match
for a coyote. Frame your
mouse window with spikes!

Yes, itโ€™s a word. Its etymology says itโ€™s derived from the Dutch, โ€œto fray.โ€

Catch Me If You Can

Mouse in framed window
In plain sight of coyote
Found it easy to gloat.

"Visitors"

After breaking the window frame,
some critters came into the house.
They were both wild and tame,
and included a coyote and a mouse.

The owners an easy solution found:
they took both animals to the pound.

Well, it took me two tries, but your helpful hint helped me to get today's Wordle on the second one:

Glad you didn't feaze your haiku, Ol' Man Keith. It was just as enjoyable as all your others.

Hope your mouse survived, CanadianEh!. Maybe the coyote laughed and just left her alone.

Have a good afternoon, everybody.

Misty ~ Glad those invaders were captured, safe & well looked after.
Yes, the pound is the place for them. Especially if itโ€™s an animal services facility that doesnโ€™t โ€œput them downโ€ within a set period of time.

CanadianEh! ~ Again, your piece has the right poetic air, the evocative tone that is more important than even the syllable count (which you have precisely right).

Iโ€™m late getting back here after a day out of town.
OMK- I do remember your sad recounting of coyote rampages into your yard (Misty too).
I enjoyed your haiku, and Mistyโ€™s poem (with the pound twist at the end that would have made a good haiku third line twist!)
Thanks all for your kind words. You are doing well on the Wordle, Misty.
