โNorm(-alizing) Featureโ
Up early, sitting
on the front patio. All
blurry. Till coffee!

Nature has a healing and energizing effect. It could be called the
Face of Nurture
Who would ever think
That sitting on the front patio,
Enjoying a coffee to drink,
Would give you pep to go
From blurry-eyed to โin the pinkโ.
OMK- LOL, we had the same idea today (not surprisingly given those J words).
Only our titles differed.
You give the โnormalizingโ credit to coffee, while I credit nature (with the help of coffee).
"Peaceful Plan"
The brothers were a happy trio
who spent time on their patio in Rio.
Drinking coffee they made plans to hunt
and looked forward a bear to confront.
But their plan for such a hunt was blurry,
and they really were in no hurry.
It was not in their nature to use force,
which would give them a lot of remorse.
So in the end protecting nature was their goal
because all three had a very kind soul.
Your โPeaceful Plan,โ Misty, causes the reader to think.
How are these non-forceful hunters to proceed? They expect to confront the bear but, wishing it no harm, what are they to do? Invite it to tea?
Even โcatch and releaseโ involves a degree of trapping, which is forceful for a time.
Ah, meโโtis a puzzlement!
Their blurry plan may come into focus with a camera!
I was reading yesterday of the new Big Apple Circus in New York. In order to avoid exploiting animals, they now have a center ring act in which a โtrainerโ puts three polar bears through their paces.
Only the โbearsโ are guys dressed as bears!
Apparently, it is all well choreographed & amusing.
Maybe this is how your trio of brothers plan to work. Perhaps theyโll hire someone to pretend to be the bear. And if they donโt catch himโharmlesslyโwithin a set period of time, he will just give himself up.
He can step out of the forest, hands (paws) up! No harm, no foul!

I hafta say, coffee doesnโt really do it for me. But, given these words, it was simply convenient to fall back on popular wisdom.
Of the two โnormalizersโ on offer this morning, Iโll go with nature, understanding of course that it includes the internal processing of our own bodies.
In other words, give us time, and weโll come around.
Not very instructive or amusing, but there you have it.

Ol' Man Keith, enjoyed your haiku, but it was the cool and complicated story you derived from my silly verse that really delighted me. You should write short stories--you'd be great! Have you ever done so, or published any creative writing? You should think about it.
CanadianEh!, your verse was also a total delight. If I had a front patio, I might even go out there to have my morning cup of coffee! And you've once again inspired me to try a Wordle. Will let you know how it goes.

Glad you enjoyed my riff on your poem, Misty. No, I have no plans to publish stories. My current effort (and hope!) is that I can finish my combination memoir/how-to book for aspiring directors.
Over the years, my most regular publications were the essays I wrote as program notes for shows I staged. These were fairly extensive when I was writing for my professional productions, then more sporadic when I was directing university shows.
Among my course load in my five or six years before retiring, I taught playwriting--even though I never attempted to write a play myself.
I wasn't entirely without experience. I premiered several shows, and I worked closely with the playwrights as we developed their work for staging.
