|| || cramp, outdo, theory, fiddle, food court.

The opening poem contains all the words (or variations of them) from today's Jumble.

When preparing to go on a first date
With Einstein's theory I can relate.
Space is time, and time is space
So don't fiddle too long to get on base!

I don't use a wing-man, it would cramp my style.
If she has a girl friend I can only smile.
They talk with each other, I'm off the hook.
I can listen and learn, with admiring looks!

Bread and circuses worked for the Romans,
Food and a movie can lead to romance.
Courtly behavior will always impress,
Paired with sincerity when my court I press!

Love is a sport, but you're on the same team
Cooperation is the desirable dream.
There's no competition to try to outdo,
So relax and enjoy just being you two!

You Really Got Me Going

I knew it was a Rock song from the words on the upper left corner . The K's helped. Sandy I saw "Abaci" and "Beckon". ???

Ironically or in some kind of reverse"Prescience" I was solving the CC at a big flea market complete with all the elements of Owen's poem. Except burly bouncers. And... So many strange people that Wilbur Kent was the one who stuck out.

I'll post this on the Monday commentary .

Sandy, the best way to post is to compose a text and paste it into the box. I actually use Message of my Android. I never send just cut it out when done.

Well since I'm here I'll solve off the Android.

That was quick. Except I thought the first word would be MOOT. Then I thought POUT. Nope. I had to write all the letters out.

Thanks Owen for providing this site so faithfully and saving your best work for this special coterie of J-folks.

FLN. Misty, occasionally when solving I will just "accidentally peek".

In my case, I'll be at Winn Dixie and the question is related to some kind of grocery or medicine and I'll mosey over to that aisle ostensibly for my Mid-Nite* or ...

* I take that combination of Melatonin and Chamomile to help me sleep . I break it in half and add a nip of Tylenol pm

Hope you got a good night's sleep, Wilbur.

Delightful poem this morning, Owen--and there they were, all the Jumble words, along with clues to the solution. I breezed through this Jumble, getting all four words without any problem, and the fun words telling us where the lawyers met--if we couldn't figure it out from the picture--popped right up too. A great way to start the week!

Have a good one, everybody!

Rain, rain, go away.
I've had enough of you today.

Ok, now that my poetizing urge is done with, on to Owen's very clever construction. It's full of interesting ideas, but I can't agree with what I perceive as this guy

Sandyanon said...

Oops!
... this guy's slippery philosophy. Is he out for romance or second base? I can't really tell. Anyway,

The jumble was simplicity itself, with an ok pun for a solution. Jumbleers can do punnier puns, though.

Perhaps the (SoCal) rain is affecting my outlook and causing me to feel disagreeable, ya think? I'll endeavor to do better.

Sandy: It's been 30+ years since I left the dating scene, but as much as I can remember this was pretty much me. First base was always a goal, and I wouldn't turn down second, but beyond that was reserved for relationships I was serious about - the sincerity factor.

Second verse, I was actually fond of non-physical three-ways. Far less stressful if I didn't feel a compulsion to carry a conversation, and I learned a lot more about my date and women in general by listening to their conversations. I dated sisters or roommates a lot, tho usually sequentially.

Sounds fine. Enviable, in fact.
