Hi. Not a difficult jumble for me today, though the third clue did take a moment or two. But the solution jumped right out -- kind of clever, as suggested by the cartoon.

Looking forward to a poem.

I too had trouble with the third word and looked forward to getting help from Owen's poem. Looks like I'll have to wait a little longer, since I'm still not sure about the solution. But I loved the vivid colors of the flaming cheese in the cartoon and all the colorful outfits. And the red wine to go with the cheese (why not white?).

Just noticed that the date today is 02 20 2020. Woohoo!

Misty, "flaming cheese" is close. Perhaps Bilbo or Smaug can help. Sandy, Owen mentioned a word from yesterday's poem would show up again today. Here we go:

Bilbo was saying….

"Have faith mighty dragon and you'll not repent
Those dwarves you smell are a sociable pair
Have faith and hear my story if you'll assent
And where I've been and why and where."

Smaug responds

"Go on and speak puny one but make it true and fair;
Pinch not pot nor pan nor precious locket.
Or the flash of my breath will singe your hair.
Out with it. What have you got in your pocket?"

Cool poem, Wilbur. I wasn't able to see yesterday's jumble, but I am really enjoying your continuing story.

Thank you Sandy. For those not familiar with "The Hobbit", after many adventures , one of which resulted in Bilbo obtaining a ring which makes him invisible, Bilbo the designated burglar arrives at Smaug's mountain .

The dragon has sniffed out Bilbo and btw knows that there's more than "a pair" of dwarves(13?). If the J will give me some words to work with I'll relate Bilbo's riddling tale.

Fun epic poem, Wilbur. It's been a long, long time since I read the Hobbit, so I don't remember the plot. Thanks for the help. And I did at last get today's Jumble.

Yes, as I said , Misty, you had the riddle-solution from the picture of the "Flaming [utensil].

Thank you Sandy. Each day I try this increases my admiration for Owen's talents.
