Easy solution. Going to bed now.

Very easy. Sleep well, Sandy!

As the cops demanded the suspect tell his whereabouts at the time of the crime, he kept answering,
"Where do youse THINK I was?"
They decided to make him answer & put him on the hot seat.
"Quit with the riddle," they yelled, "and sit on the griddle!"

Well I hope all are well this morning. Yes, the four J's popped and when I looked at the letters there was the riddle.
Things didn't look so dismal as the journey begun
He'd adapted to the dwarves and Fili was fun
But as they trudged into the wilds, wet and cold
Digits numb, body soaked he felt less bold.

And where was Gandalf that wizarding riddle
When all were weary he was fit as a fiddle
Huddled and damp and failing to ignite
A fire, off in the distance they saw a light.

All eyes turned to Bilbo, "Go take a look".
"Forget you're a Baggins, I must be a Took"
He muffled his footsteps, got close, took a peek
What he saw around a fire was truly unique.

Ha, Wilbur! Fun poem AND a cliffhanger.

Yes, Sandy, we're back to where I started this tale a week or so ago. Bilbo had snatched a purse from three ugly trolls but it was a magic purse and it squeaked.

What fun to come to the Jumble blog and get Ol'Man Keith's funny double gloss, and Wilbur's delightful poem with all the words and the suspenseful ending, and Sandyanon's comments. Only hope Owen is okay and will check in with us a bit later.

The four words were totally easy to solve, and the solution popped right up and of course fit the cartoon perfectly. And I loved the different beards, and mustaches and hairdos and outfits and weights of the two fellows. Fun cartoon, words and answer, and blog commentaries and contributions. Got my captive stay-at-home Thursday off to a fun start.

Off topic. I just want to thank and congratulate the people shopping for us housebound ones. My Instacart order today was hit or miss, but the shopper did a valiant job of trying to get me something for each of my items.
