My goodness, Ol' Man Keith, I am so sorry for having been such a poor colleague and I am so terribly sorry for my lack of care and understanding. I can only give you my most sincere apology, and will do my best to do better in the future. Please forgive me.
I looked up koalas, and learned they are not good pets. So clearly my verse is not based on experience.
The Koala was Kim's favorite pet
and with kosher food
she kept him well fed,
along with much fluid
so he wouldn't feel dry,
and he also enjoyed
her fresh apple pie.
In the summer her family moved to the hills
where they spent cool nights
and tried not to chill.
But the days were warm and bright,
and the koala loved the morning light.
Misty ~. I am sorry you saw that. I removed my message because I thought it too harsh as well as impolite. But I gather from your note to me that you saw it before I took it down. As you could see, I had the impression that you had been ignoring my hints--and then ignored my requests for closer attention. The reality is that we are all interdependent on each other's good will--and no one (including myself) has a right to demand a response from anyone else.
Shifting focus, your poem today is fine, even if the koala is not the most congenial of pets. I take it that Kim is a particularly generous caretaker, and she is servicing her pet's needs without complaint. Indeed, she probably makes the family move "to the hills" because that *#@! koala likes the climate there!
CanadianEh! ~ Good advice to the upcoming generation! I think back to my own threshold years and realize I never thought I had a choice. I was always heading into theater and education. But I know there are others who haven't found a strong area compelling their interest. For them, your counsel is perfect" "Remain fluid" --that is, explore all options until one (or more) grabs you, even if it's by the throat!

OMK- I LOLed at your haiku, as I imagined your koala trying to decide if a tree was kosher or not. Perhaps a sign is needed. Then you threw in the Islamic halal in your title. Poor confused koala re its faith.
Mistyโs koala keeps a kosher diet too. (We do have to work with the words we are given!). Iโm hoping that โmuch fluidโ isnโt a problem with his house training! I smiled at the apple pie, because I just made one today and DH and I were enjoying it at dinner - but no koala to share it.
What fun we had today.
