โOnly Two Last Sundayโฆ?
(and NO responses)
It appears to be that time again
when I retire my poetry pen.
I see some others
have been drawing on โdruthers
and joining me in "saying โWhen'โ!

Yes, OMK, Sundays can be a busy day. But I should be back this afternoon to join Misty. Enjoy your rest day.
Owen- I love your appropriate emojis.
"Recovery"
Sam lost a game of soccer,
and was told he had to secede.
He had to empty his locker,
and was soon in financial need.
He lost his credit card
but continued to move onward.
Although his account was wrecked,
he did on new projects reflect.
He got a hammer and began to build
a rec room for a neighbor,
and soon his income no longer shrank
as he was paid for his labor.
Because Sam was such an active sport
new companies do now him court.
A sad story of refugees in a new land facing racism and persecution.
By the Rivers of Babylon
Our leaky eyes wept under the willow,
But we must move onward.
No use crying in our pillow!
Who wrecked the place we wondered?
A soccer ball smashed the window,
A hammer to the doors was heard,
We shrank from looking below.
We would never secede from the town,
But this treatment surely got us down.
Misty- I am sorry to give you such a sad poem today. Perhaps I was influenced by all the horrific news reports.
At least your Sam managed to rebuild his life by helping a neighbour and thus getting into a new business. Perhaps my woeful refugees will be able to forge a better life and be better accepted. Letโs hope so!
Hereโs a happier Wordle clue poem for Misty
Halloween can be so freaky,
With costumes that are brash and cheeky.
Wanting a โdress upโ for the Kon-Tiki?
Just be sure your boatโs not _ _ _ _ _ .
CanadianEh!, every night I get more and more worried and depressed, listening to the news reports from the middle east, and so my heart is completely with you and the sad and sorrowful figures in your poem. And I'm totally with you in hoping your refugees will be able to get a better life and one where they will be welcomed and accepted.
Ol' Man Keith,
Thanks for checking in with us on a Sunday:
you delightful comments help make it a fun day.
Owen,
Checking in on Sunday is a hurdle,
but we're happy to at least get your Wordle.
CanadianEh!, I saw your last verse and went through all words that rhyme with "freaky" and "cheeky" to come up with a Wordle answer and I got it--"l_ _ _ y". But when I went to the Wordle site, the correct answer already popped up, so I wasn't able to enter it. But thanks to your verse, I got it! I got it! I got it! Many thanks all the same!
