Todayโs Jumble haiku:
(Although fond of dogs, I find I have certain biases when it comes to their pigmentation.
I recently saw oneโฆ)
โBlue As My Shoeโ
A hound that color
followed me home. It took all
my weight to thwart it.
~ OMK
The obese person is overwhelmed by all the self-help information
Whew! Who Knew
Hounded for colour, weight,
Thwarted by the projectโs scope,
New diet hopeless!
OMK- I took your thoughts FLN re Spooners to heart, and did not try so hard to create one today. It gave me more leeway to create a simpler theme.
I smiled broadly at the thought of that blue dog following you home. And a rather large one to boot, if it took all your weight to thwart. My son loved the books about Clifford, the Big Red Dog.
"New Family"
The couple visited the pound
where they found the cutest hound.
He had a considerable weight
which threatened he might have a bad fate.
But this did not the couple thwart,
and they brought him home in a cart.
They liked his light tan color
and so bought him a dark brown collar.
Having a pet experience was new,
but the couple knew what to do.
The family now loves their new boy,
and all three are full of joy.
Misty- it is interesting that you and OMK went with the hound dog, while I used another meaning. I laughed at the imagery of that weighty hound being pulled home in a cart. But he is a lucky boy to be chosen at the pound and looked after well (even by newbie pet owners). A joyful ending for us all.
And of course, you all noticed that my haiku is Canadianized with the U in colour. LOL
As I end up saying every day, the things I learn on this blog.
Ol Man Keith, I've never heard of a 'blue dog' and had to look it up to learn it was a breed with a silvery-grey or icy color, and that many have blue eyes. I hope the little guy who followed you home has good parents to take good care of him. Wonder if your blue shoe made him think you might be related to him.
CanadianEh!, how sad that your obese person has trouble finding a good diet that would work for him. But your haiku certainly played around cleverly with U sounds. Not just the 'EW' sounds in your title but also the spellings in having your 'hounded' followed by the Canadian spelling of 'colour'. Thanks for pointing that out.
A nice variety of offerings today.
CEh finds diet data intimidating. It apparently hounds the seeker and ranges too greatly in scope.
In few words she captures the despair of so many who seek answers to their physicalโฆ er, expanse.
Misty devotes two stanzas to her coupleโs new dog, one they rescued from the pound and learned quickly to rear.
Word now is they get along famously!
(Whoโs a good boy?)
