Whoops!

Thanksgiving & my wife’s birthday? They’ve knocked my dates awry.
My weekly poem’s not ready—despite Sunday being nigh.
A bespoke poem I shall need to eschew.
Forgive me for my silly boo-boo;
this simple quintain will have to do.

"Thanksgiving Prayer"

When Natalie heard someone did her son accuse,
it did much worry and fear infuse.
She hired an attorney who was a good defender
on cases involving issues of gender.
He was able to find a convincing clue
that the charge against the son
was completely untrue.

The jury accepted this and did the charge reject,
and now the son is no longer a suspect.
On Sunday Natalie and the boy attended their church
where for a perfect Thanksgiving prayer they did search.

Scaring off Dracula requires knowing what to use, unlike the
Thief (who) Lured It

Garlic-infused canola oil,
And the cross in the church,
Solidly repel vampires of any gender.
Don’t reject as untrue!

OMK- it has been a busy week for you. We will gladly accept your “simple quintain” today. Enjoy this day of rest.

Misty - what a lovely poem with a good legal result for Natalie’s son. I trust that the good attorney was thanked as part of their Thanksgiving, and that they found the perfect Thanksgiving prayer also.

Have a great day.

Ol' Man Keith, it's always great to have you check in with us on a Sunday, even if you don't have a haiku or a verse. Just nice to hear from you, and hope you're been having a good day!

CanadianEh!, I'm so glad that the person in your verse appears to have been able to repel a vampire, using a bit of canola oil and a cross. Thank goodness.
And thank you for your very kind comment about my poem. I feared it might be too sentimental, but am so glad that you enjoyed it.

Let's all hope we have a good week coming up!
