The singer was a recording star, one platinum, two gold.
She was loved on vinyl, and on C.D. she'd taken hold.
She didn't think that she was vain, not an itty bitty bit.
But was concerned about the time since she'd had a hit.

At her love songs people tingled, hopes mingling just a tinge.
Memories were brought to mind, their hearts felt a twinge.
Her spirituals were uplifting, but she never sounded preachy.
She sang with optimism, and faith the world was peachy!

She only lacked at doing blues songs, songs sung in a drizzle.
No rain or sadness brought her down, at that she was a fizzle.
Perhaps she was out of her time, the world had changed of late.
Rap and metal had invaded, infected music tastes with hate.

Easy, peasy jumble, no paper required.

I like the poem. It made me think about my age, though. I'm almost as outdated as that singer, who doesn't seem to know about streaming. And I haven't listened to any rap to speak of; is it really full of hate?

Loved both of your poems this morning, Owen--many thanks for that. Had problems with the second word--don't know why, it was so obvious when I finally got it. And am embarrassed to say I initially spelled that first word wrong, with the I and the Y mixed up. But the solution made it clear that I had to change that. Easy, fun, Jumble for a morning, and I'm happy that the regulars are back doing the cartoons. I'll be away for a week and will miss blogging with you, Owen, Sandyanon, and Wilbur. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Forgot to say, I'll miss you too, Ol'Man Keith.

You too, Misty.

Misty I had that word the same way but when I wrote it down figured it out.

The CC yesterday took so long I was very late solving the 6*6. Talk about odd words

That was a nice poem and rap indeed is full of everything that music never had prior.

Although the Beatles sang of stalking and a little boy who killed with a bat.

I've heard very little rap, and what I have heard was as selected samples, so I don't know how representative they were. But some were filled with so much hate (and swearing) they were really hard to listen to. Others were pleas for reconciliation, (with swearing) but even those came across as violent.

Well, I've heard virtually no rap, and doubt I will in future. So I'll never know! Upside or downside of age?

I do really look forward to your poems every day, Owen. The jumble poems even more than the Corner ones. Thanks for your efforts.
