Once upon a time, in a land far, far away,
Lived a giant whose desire was to save he day!
He wanted to be a good guy, and to do it right,
So he applied to the king to become a knight!

This caused some concern, no armor would fit,
And a custom made suit would cost ... quite a bit!
The giant said, "It's okay, I can absorb any blow."
So he knelt to be dubbed a knight, then off he did go!

His assignment number one was a monster for the moat.
First, he made a levee. Then went to lands remote.
Found a monster shop, bought an iconic monster
In a big plastic bag. And monster kibble for her.

He returned to the castle, poured the bag into the water.
The monster thrashed around, like a monster ought ta.
It tried to escape, but the levees were too steep.
"I was banking, so they would be. What's my chore next week?"

Love the water/oughtta rhyme!

The S is pretty obvious. Once again, go for the word the J caption carefully avoids.

Such a silly poem! Makes me laugh out loud.

The jumble clues were not so easy for me today. Again I had to get the solution with just three of them (not difficult) and go back to unscramble the third clue once I had its letters. Yes, again it was d'oh!

I made a discovery today. I'd had an inkling but now I'm convinced that I need a warm-up . I was getting nowhere so I did the xword on the comics page which is easy.

Even so, I had to warm up . But... Once I'd finished, the J fell although I bobbled a bit with #3 .

That @#$&ic* word in the S was not COUNTING .

Entertaining and humorous poem . I always marvel at how you can kick'em out.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your poem, Owen. I had trouble with all four jumble words but then got 3 and 4. But I just couldn't get 1 and 2, even though my first try for 1 was the word GAINT. I kept thinking what's a _ _ _ _ _ and just didn't get it. Do I feel dumb this morning? Boy, do I ever. And the 2 also totally defeated me until I went through Owen's poem and looked carefully at every word with a k in it. Tada! Then I got it. I haven't tried the solution yet--will work on that after lunch. But, I think I'm suffering a little jet leg--even though I got the Craig crossword without any trouble at all this morning. See you later.

Okay, here I am--three minutes later. Got the solution instantly! Woohoo!

Glad it worked out for you!
It can be a nasty nag to leave it unfinished & have it hanging over your head.

It's a great extra gift to see you not only on the Crossword blog, but then here as well, Ol'Man Keith and Sandyanon! And Owen, your double poems are the other great gift every day. By the way, I love that you can post a Jumble in color for us! Woohoo!
